Re: New VALIANT Comics

I'd like to see a maxi series that expands on the events from Rai #0, with each individual issue showing the end of each character's story as detailed in that single issue. Layton could write the X-O Manowar issue, Hall could write and, potentially, draw the Shadowman issue. Vanhook could write the...

Re: Jim Shooter's Post Unity VALIANT Universe

Pre Unity. 6 titles. 2 were gold key updates. Harbinger and X-O equal x-men and Iron Man/Conan. Rai 1-5 is average/boring as is Shadowman 1-3. Pre-Unity Shooter is overrated around here.
I prefer that time right after Unity. The 6 months afterwards. Awesome stories during that time.

I love Solar 0-4. But, it reminds me a lot of Moore’s Miracleman run for the first few issues.

Re: Jim Shooter's Post Unity VALIANT Universe

I’m always still surprised Jim gets so much credit. He’s amongst my favs, but he did it all flying by the seat of his pants with a ton of help from many.
Jim didn’t create everything himself imo anymore than did Stan Lee did with Marvel.

When your favorite comic book company robs you, that’s a slap in the face. I’m awake now.
NEVER a cent will i spend again on them.

Re: Yet another Alien rumor

VALIANT is a dream. A fond memory. I’m fine with those characters going into hibernation again for a while.
The third iteration was my final endeavor into these characters. There’s so much amazing stuff out there! I don’t desire them again for a 4th time personally.

Re: A self-proclaimed procrastinator finally joins

Certain series move faster. A&A big time.
Some slow it down then floor it like Shadowman 7-12 versus 13 onwards. Gets tricky when you try to include the reading order for Master Darque.

Pre-Unity is easy to order. Post Unity through Chaos Effect gets tricky. Guest appearances galore!

Re: A self-proclaimed procrastinator finally joins

Thanks! I’ve been working on a hybrid reading order publication vs chronological. They work together well. Just takes a lot of research. Example. I like X-O zero before X-O 1. But, with Blooshot, I like zero much later. Timewalker stays towards the end for me. But, Harbinger Files 1 goes after Solar...

Update: my mom passed away in December, 2022 😞 I don’t post here much, but i’ve visited since 2006 and before. I’ll always love this place. I’ve dubbed myself “The Watcher” amongst this great place Gregg created. I know, talk about building yourself up. Lol. Anyhow, it doesn’t really matter. My mom ...

Re: COMIC BOOK PUBLISHERS, NOT PAYING CREATORS

Bad news! I remember when news broke that Crossgen couldn’t pay their artists! That was it for them. Negative publicity erased any chance.

Anyhow….fast forward from 1983 (my start) through 2022 (current)

It’s curious to see at 46. Some things stay the same. Some don’t.

Re: Are the Valiant Movies Dead?

Hopefully. Super hero movies/shows have become a Hollywood crutch. Over saturated. Boring and predictable hero’s journeys again and again. Once upon a time for me, Super hero movies were fascinating and cutting edge. Now, the best cgi has become standard.

Re: Layoffs & Resignations Leave VALIANT’s Future in Doubt

I’m sorry for those that lost their jobs. That’s all I’m sorry about though. Once VEI became DMG, that was it for me in hindsight. DMG has been producing mostly garbage for years now at $4 a copy. I love the VALIANT characters, but I chose a while ago that I would not follow them blindly into the ab...

Thank you Jrosen for continuing this reading order! I’m currently using these for my VEI re-read/reading order. Been a great time so far! I love how the segments from the #25 issues are included chronologically. I’m only up to Harbinger Wars, but man VEI was incredible back then!

The entire concept of Harbinger started as an aborted movie script via Shooter late 80’s if I’m not mistaken.
