I agree about not making it as dark as what Acclaim did. I liked the art by Wheatly, but it wouldn't fit a lighter edition, which is what made the immortals so fun to begin with. Acclaim didn't get what made the characters popular and they didn't even try to translate what they had into videogames. ...

Platinum Bloodshot would be amazing, but I have a pretty good one that I just a moment ago realized. I was going to sit down and read Unity-minus XO # 8, which I still need-when I noticed that Unity # 1 looked different. I took a closer look and realized it was a GOLD! 8-) I had pulled it from the d...

I wear my badge of Noob with honor :D In all seriousness, I'm truly enjoying this board, as I finally found a place where there are people with similiar interests as me, particularly as it pertains to Comic Books. As for 3k posts...dang it, that was my goal...3k by New Years day. I have to ask a que...

Y es, there were a LOT of Ghost products. there were 4 specials and at least 3 TPB's that I know of. Here's a set of additions to the list: Ghost Special/1994/Arcadia/Eric Luke/Matt Haley, Tom Simmons, Adam Huges. Ghost Special 2/1998/Arcadia/Martin Lodewyk/H.m.Baker, Bernard Kolle. Ghost Special 3:...

New Title names, eh? Well, for Archer and Armstrong...I know some have said to ditch Archer, but he was the straw that stirred the drink. I think it would be possible to try what Acclaim did and have the immortals all in one book. As for a title, I haven't got a clue right now. I think if Magnus and...

Comics Greatest World/Dark Horse Heroes list
The following is a list of the Series, including dates, # of issues, "setting" and "major" creative teams, as many books went through a lot of different art teams, although the writers managed to stay onboard for some reason. Comics Greatest World: 1-16/Arcadia, Golden City, Stee...

I would rather see Valiant re-emerge as its own publisher, but I don't know how feasible that is given today's market. I was talking to one of my LCS guys and he said that he would be extremly pleased if the Valiant characters were revived, but he doesn't think that there is room in the market for a...

I agree, I wouldn't involve Dark Horse right now. I would wait until the mess is cleared up and I threw Dark Horse out as a possibilty due to the fact they work well with licensed products, Shooter and Richardson seem/ed to have a relationship, and they are or have been excellent about not interferi...

I think that the key to a Valiant reboot is purchasing the rights to Magnus and Solar. Right now, Dark Horse has the re-print rights, if not the outright publishing rights. Hear me out on this...I seem to recall Jim Shooter and Mike Richardson(publisher of DH)being buddies. Well, maybe that is one w...

I know this will seem like heresy, but if the Valiant universe is ever rebooted-again-I think that there needs to be a clear plan and some changes. Mostly minor changes, although one will be incredibly large. This is what I meant by heresey...no Turok. Now, I was not just not big on Turok, although ...

Novi Comic con?
I think they've renamed this one the Motor city comic con, but it is in Novi, Michigan, at a place called the Rock financial showplace. It is happening the 18th-20th of May this year and parking is 5 bucks, advanced tickets are 20 for a single day, 45 for the 3 day pass. I only live about an hour aw...

Grading?
I am familiar with grading, in particular with coins-which was a hobby for a while but got expensive and so I unloaded. Alas, due to much time away from comics, less so with the later. I haven't seen anything on this site so far, although I am new, that explains the grading system for Comics. If any...

I've read both stories and honestly, there just isn't a way for me to choose one over the other. Except for maybe Unity, Rai #0 and the first 7 issues of Harbinger, this was Jim Shooters finest work. He may come off to some as a slightly self-certain jerk, but the man has talent, passion drive and I...

Quarter Bin Raids
Well, it hasn't really been "quarter" as much as the 50 cent or dollar bin, but that is all they have in my area anymore. I recently picked up the first four issues of 2nd life of Dr. Mirage for about 2 bucks. I got MOST of the Unity issues for a dollar each at a used book store that sells...

Liefeld? AT VALIANT? what a dreadful thought. good joke, man...and apologies about the double click on my previous post. I must also add another fave of mine whose work is not normally associated with Valiant, but who nonetheless did some very important covers during Unity: Frank Miller.(that Eterna...

Bragging rights-your best deal of late
My best deal of late would be this past Saturday, when I purchased 1-10 of Solar, in essentially Mint condition-it looks mint to me-for 29 dollars. And yes, that does include a first edition of #10. I now have two copies of 4, 5 & both editions of 10. Yay. I also picked up the first 20 issues pl...

Comics Greatest World
I must admit, before I got into Valiant-more on that in a bit-THIS was "my" first universe. I've always thought that the problem Dark Horse encountered was waiting too long to debut the line then waiting too long to bring out other books. I mean, for almost 6 months there was essentially o...
