I'm going to side step the story discussion (of which I am a fan) and simply praise Fiona Staples' art. The covers are especially beautiful. I hope the series gets a nice oversized HC treatment someday.

Solar 3 by BWS is my favorite cover, with Dark Knight Returns 2 by Frank Miller a close second. There's a thousand others I really like though. For example, I just read Runaways (the BKV issues) and Jo Chen had some absolutely beautiful covers in that run.

I agree, Fables hasn't been AS good these past several trades, but I still enjoy it. And I even liked Cubs in Toyland - it got much darker than I was expecting it to. At this point it would have to be Fables Crossover bad on a consistent basis for me to stop reading.
