Re: I might be out on Valiant
As a long-time Valiant fan I hate to pile on and echo some of what others are saying. The shared universe feels too disconnected, the quality is getting a bit sparse, and bottom line I think they went in too many directions too fast. I felt early on they were failing at establishing some of the key ...

End of an era. How crazy X-O is up to #50 already? It still feels like VEI just launched in my mind.

Having a 4001 Shadowman would be cool.

I have no doubt VEI is providing us with the best quality product that they can. It is a no brainer for me that if it is between not having these collections or having them in this format - I will take them in this format.

Re: Archer & Armstrong Omnibus Amazon Review is Live..
I bought this as well. I am happy to have the classic A&A collected in HC, but I do see why many are not a fan of the black borders. It made me a bit disappointed because I think it negatively impacts the overall presentation, but I have no doubt there is a reason they did it. A great collection...

Re: Does anybody want the Gold Key trinity back anymore
Not needed at this point. Heck VEI barely has my favorite Valiant character (Shadowman) now and I still love it.
I never cared much for Solar or Turok. Magnus was great and I think still could be. I would be fairly excited about them getting Magnus, so yeah I kind of want that.

Re: Ninjak #10
Far exceeded my expectations. This story along with Book of the Dead seems like it might start making things more 'Valiant' by tying things together (Unity world with Shadowman world). I do not think VEI has done enough at this point in the game to combine the sci fi and magic elements of the univer...

Re: Dead Drop #4
I hate to neg anything Valiant - they do such great work overall. I reserved my comments until the end of the series, but now that it is over I have to voice that this is a title I want to forget. It was weak enough that I am tempted to put these books in a separate box as the rest of my Valiant boo...

No new books in my shop either. I also had to wait 2 weeks on Book of Death. It was worth the wait because I unexpectedly was able to get a copy of Legends of the Geomancer so I can't complain.

This was a good story, but a little too lean. I think we are overdue on exploring more of the vine and the armor itself so I was happy to get this nugget. I would have liked a bit more detail.

Re: Preview: That book I dont get to read because I wont pay
I really do not understand the lack of tolerance for people expressing disapproval with this incentive. If I was not a big Valiant fan I would quietly just stop buying the books. Valiant would lose a long-time fan and maybe 2-3 others would step in to fill my place... maybe not. Because I love Valia...

I am a HUGE fan of the original Omega Men series so I picked up the new series. I was a bit confused with the issue because it is tied with current DC events and I am not currently reading any DC titles. I am happy they are bringing back the original Omega Men core (Primus, Doc, Broot, etc.). I hope...

Re: Basic Reading List
Thanks for putting this together :thumb: It occurs to me every time I organize my new Valiant comics that it will be a bit tricky to figure out reading order down the road based on the number of titles and the way the story arcs are set up. Honestly, it probably is not much worse than say figuring o...

Re: Legend of the Geomancer Opinion Poll
I will probably try to get it, but I am not happy about it. If this becomes a trend I will protest by not buying books using retailer incentives and possibly stop getting Valiant books altogether. This to me is similar to the types of gimmicks done in the 90s that sold a lot of comics in the short t...

Re: Book of Death: Legends of the Geomancer
Valiant's reasoning aside I can only see this backfiring long term. This strategy is a big turn off both to my LCS and me personally. I want to see Valiant grow, but not at the risk of losing existing fans like myself.

This book is going to compete with Rai for my favorite title. I love the character and the tone of the book. It has a heavy amount of mood and emotion. The OTV podcast nailed it when they said this is what I want from Shadowman. I am not sure what % is the art and what % is the storytelling. The fir...

Re: Favorite Valiant Covers From The Relaunch
No doubt there have been some GREAT covers since Valiant has re-launched. Last night I read Harby #25 and as I looked at the cover gallery in the back something occurred to me... with all of the extra covers it takes away something I really cherished about the original run - the relationship between...

I think I am in the minority that Unity just does not click for me. I suppose to be fair I should say I am not normally a fan of team books in general, but at the very least I feel they launched Unity too prematurely before they established a lot of the individual characters well. This issue was too...

Re: Is anyone just buying Trades and not single issues?
I am thinking about it. I like supporting Valiant and my LCS, but some days because of the way I like to read things and the cover madness I really have to talk myself off the ledge. The other issue of course is I am running out of space to store comic issues in my closet. Waiting is not an issue fo...

Is Lula a geomancer? Just popped into my head. I do not have any supporting reason to think that other than it instantly makes her more significant. Very excited that future timeline stories are coming out now. The connection between timelines is one of the most uniquely cool things about Valiant. M...
