Re: Bad Idea 2 (Pt. 1) Late 2022 Slate Revealed!
What in the Holy name of Org's Phlegm does this mean? Let's hope they don't reach their goal. From the latest email: Two equal and opposite forces were created on February 6th, 2020. BAD IDEA was announced for the first time, and instantly, the BAD IDEA haters were born. BAD IDEA is returning this w...

Re: Top 5 Non-Big 2 Superhero Universes
I'm a fan of the Invincible Universe although I don't know if it really has enough different titles to be considered a full blown universe . (Main, Guardians, Brit, Astounding Wolf-Man and few mini-series). Similarly, the Radiant Black universe has been fun. At first it feels like your standard supe...

Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins
Maybe comic companies should release a conservative version and a liberal version of their biggest characters in order to appeal to fans of both political persuasions.

Re: VALIANT(DMG) APRIL 2022 SALES CHART!
Looks like some Armorines 4s in there ... But will there be any completionists left to hunt them down? I think all the variant covers also hurt the completionist mentality long term. It just gets to be too much. I agree about the variants. As much as I loved the VEI stories, the variants pulled me ...

Second Submission Results & Turnaround Times
Feeling emboldened with my first submission, I decided to submit a few more issues of Invincible. Received on 6/15, Modern Fast Track, and I just got the results with shipping scheduled for 6/24: 001 Invincible 1 12/03 Image Comics Limited Edition-9.8 WHITE 002 Invincible 1 12/03 Image Comics Limite...

Re: What are you collecting these days? I've gone Golden Age and subscribed to Marvel Unlimited
I've been putting together a run of Cerebus, needing only a handful of the early issues to complete that. I'm also working on a slabbed run of Invincible. Recently completed the run of the Official Guide to Marvel Universe. Not sure why I wanted those, but it scratched an itch. See I had found a mos...

I’m still thrilled. I’m about 35% of the way to having the complete run so this journey has a ...

Re: First Submission Question.
Since I have no one else to talk comics with, I'm sharing this news with the group. I ended up just submitting just my Invincible #1. I chose to blow a lot of money on Express turnaround and pressing. It was my first submission and the thought of my book just sitting somewhere for a year didn't seem...

Re: First Submission Question.
Thanks for the reply. All of these other than Invincible are newsprint and are already not perfect, so maybe worth the risk of pressing to clean up some of the defects.
I'm debating whether to do anything with Invincible. It looks like great as is, so maybe no benefit there.

First Submission Question.
11 months ago I signed up for the paid CGC membership with the intention of submitting books. I've put it off for almost a year and my $150 credit will expire in two weeks, so now is the time to submit. I've narrowed my first submission down to the following books: 1. Invincible 1 (looks great, no v...

Re: Conceptual Funnies #1 - CGC
In defense of Bad Idea, I've enjoyed most everything they've published and you have to assume these sorts of shenanigans are partly (if not mostly) for headlines. Sure, there's some commentary on the state of the medium and the fan culture that would pay 5 figures for encased piece of clear plastic....

I’ve read issues 1-3 and thought it was great. Well written, beautifully illustrated. Waiting for remaining issues to arrive.
As I posted elsewhere, it’s a shame that these books may never be collected. Surely that won’t hold up for much longer?

Re: Conceptual Funnies #1 - CGC
These are the blank CGC slabs? I don't get it. I think it’s a translucent piece or two of acetate/plastic, folded and stapled, representing the comic book equivalent of John Cage’s 4:33 musical performance. I think anyway. I was drunk and submitted a bid above the threshold, but didn’t win (thankfu...

Re: Proliferation of CBCS Slabs
I am not exactly brand loyal to CGC, but I do tend to buy way more (90%+) CGC than CBCS. It’s sort of stupid too because I just prefer the CGC label. I’ve not handled enough books to know whether the grading is equivalent so I’ve got to rely on curb appeal. I’m finally getting ready to submit a stac...

I've been trying to find the same thing. I think I've got some decent images of Glory that was going to just print and include. Not sure though how to get it to where it looks ok. Re: FINAL FIVE from BAD IDEA
I pre-ordered these (and all Bad Idea) with Ed at Paradise. I received my first shipment this weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find a Final Five sticker inside. Any idea on what this is redeemable for? I saw in a promo that you get a “corrected” copy of the first issue. Seems sus but I’m on b...
