Re: Board members on ebay

Hi there, Been a long time since i've been on these boards so apologies for being the guy that only shows up to sell stuff, but i've just listed a bunch of VEI variants so thought it a good time to plug my ebay profile here. Have at these! https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/markf4018/m.html?item=40149513826...

WTS – lots of early VEI variants

Hi there, Some of you may remember that I was quite active on these boards a couple of years ago in the first flush of excitement as VEI launched. Sadly, work and life changes made it harder to find time for message boards, so I’ve not been around for a while. Even more sadly, those same life change...

Ahh. Awkward. Hadn't noticed any reference to it in the Unity thread.

I'll get my coat.

Unity is an on-going, not a crossover!

Hi, Haven’t been around here much lately as real life has been a bit hectic, but couldn’t believe no one had picked up on this from the VEI twitter feed: @ValiantComics Good thing UNITY is not a cross-over. Get ready for our newest ongoing! was excited before, even more so now! Something genuinely n...

Re: Valiant Comics Celebrates Its 1st Crossover with Mobile

Wow. Simply wow. This is a magnificent viral marketing idea. Dinesh and co, if you are reading this I take my hat off to you. I was already a fan of the Valiant comics but this has completely convinced me that the company itself is something special. Whoever is doing your PR is earning their fee. An...

Lack of valiant at London comic con

So I trundled along to the London Super Comic Con on Saturday hoping to pick up a couple of VEI variants (among other goodies.) Had a great time but was genuinely shocked to discover that not a single dealer had any of the recent Valiant comics at all. Can anyone explain this? BTW – I did have a bri...

Robert Venditti on Green Lantern!

I haven't been posting on here much lately but this news has given me a kick! As a fan of Green Lantern i'm glad to see Venditti get the gig, but could it pull him away from XO? I know he's already got a few assignments, but as both GL and XO are cosmic heroes DC may not like the overlap.

WTB/trade A&A 5 1:20, 1:50 Bloodshot 6 1:20

My LCS surprised me by not having any Valiant variants for the first time this week, so i'd be keen to hear from anyone who can help me out on these three books. I could probably pay a fair price, or trade the following: Archer and Armstrong 1 - 1:20 Shadowman 1 - 1:50 Shadowman 1 - 1:20 Give me a s...

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months

I'd say that sustained low numbers are more important than trying to get the numbers up. As I mentioned earlier, I suspect the hi numbers of the early issues were inflated, meaning the the big drop offs give a false impression of failure. If we get to a point where per title sales level out at 8-10k...

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months

I agree, I'm a bit shocked at the treatment by 2 members in this thread (Carson and MarkRoseHFX) being told to leave and that he'd be hated is a bit out of order. Someone get a new leash for Carson, he was off-the-chain & absolutely rabid, there! :poke: And Mark is just upset because he wants t...

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months

Using the Comichron.com Top 300 monthly data... and taking into consideration that each comic shop has a fairly constant budget from month-to-month... We have to see how the comic shops have chosen to use their budget with all the publishing choices available. So, looking at comic shops and the mon...

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months

Can I just ay that as a recent Valiant fan and a newcomer to these boards I'm a bit disappointed to see the level of personal abuse thrown at a guy politely making a couple of pessimistic points about Valiant. I really hope that sort of thing is not the norm around here. That said, I think the pessi...

Re: 2012 VEI Variant Solicits- Which is your Favorite Cover?

The XO 5 Ninjack cover is awesome, but I think you've omitted the best two of the year - the David Aja covers for A&A 1 and Bloodshot 1. It was seeing these that prompted me to give Valiant a try in the first place.

Re: Forbidden planet gives valiant 6 months

I'm guessing this is not the London store? I wouldnt worry too much, sounds like pretty ill-informed mouthing off from someone well outside of the loop. I tend to go in the London store once a week (to pick up the Valiant variants they have) and they seem to be buying in and selling on a decent amou...

I’ve got a copy each of the following available to buy at the marked prices: Archer and Armstrong 1 - 1:20 (12GBP; 17USD) Shadowman 1 - 1:50 (30GBP; 45USD) Shadowman 1 - 1:20 (12GBP; 17USD) Bloodshot 5 - 1:25 (15GBP; 20USD) SOLD I’m no expert on grading but they all look to be NM to me - unread, wit...

Re: This makes me so angry...VALIANT haters!

The comparison to Image bugs me. Image is a publisher handling logistics for creator owned properties, Valiant is a bank of corporate owned IP. To say that the latter should borrow the business model of the former is ridiculous! More to the point, making any long term judgements about the success of...

Re: Reactions to Shadowman at LCSs?

Orbital comics in London had about five each of the regular and blackout left on the shelf this morning (I had them both and Johnson cover in my pullbox on Wednesday.) Forbidden Planet had about the same, plus four Johnson covers on the shelf. They had a 1:50 on the wall on Wednesday but that looked...

Re: Shadowman 1 !!!

This was an outstanduing book, even better than I was hoping! A great 'hero's journey' type story told through jaw dropping art. Patrick Zircher seems to have taken a massive step up latyely, starting with his recent Captain America run. Very pleased he's at Valiant. Shadowman could be - deserves to...
