Re: Let’s quantify our views on the sale of Valiant
I'm sticking with the books. Warren and Fred are still running the publishing side and they know Dino's wishes.
Now, I'm fully aware it could be Acclaim 2.0 but until that time......

..... Warren Simons and Fred Pierce being in place should keep the current plan running until someone higher up in DMG knocks them off their stellar track record. This. I suspect most if not all of 2018 to continue as planned, whatever that plan may be. It's 2019 and beyond we might start seeing ch...

Re: The DMG Buyout: A New Fan's Perspective
Ask yourself this: Would I have left when Stan Lee wasn't in charge? Would I have left when Julie Schwartz wasn't in charge? Some visionary is always leaving or being asked to leave at some point. Where is your investment, the characters and their future potential or just the potential of the charac...

Re: VALIANT SOLD
Unfortunately you dont get forced resignation because the company is doing well . This vision wasnt making enough money. We all appreciate Dinesh and what VEI has done. We've all been a bit shell shocked. How often have many of us said something to the effect: Just publishing 9 books a month isn't ...

Re: Dmg boycott?
I'd wager it's an initial emotional reaction to the extent they intend such a boycott to be real. I'm firmly in the wait and see camp while being bummed about the recent news. I need to see some books quality under the new regime before making decisions and that will be some months away if not fully...

Re: VALIANT SOLD
I'm happy that Dinesh and his investors will profit from their risky endeavor of bringing Valiant back to us.
I'm curious if they had to sell though and why? Couldn't they just have said thank but no thanks to Mintz and his offer?

Good numbers indeed.
Not shocked by the Faith Winter Special. She is not a solid lead and that one shot was a horrible.
Still waiting on Psi-Lords!

Re: VALIANT SOLD
Been reading up on Dan Mintz, the CEO and founder of DMG. It looks like his main focus for the past decade plus has been trying to tap into the Chinese market. Nothing wrong with that, there is a lot of money to be made there. From what I've read it seems like that is his ONLY focus. I'm feeling Va...

Re: VALIANT SOLD
VALIANT SOLD - much better, well done. As Valiant fans, especially the OG ones, we've been through this before and it didn't end well. It's not like an EIC at Marvel or DC stepping down after decades of publishing. Every time Valiant starts to emerge, or in this case re-emerge, as a power it gets so...

Re: what is this?
Worst thread title ever for such a big topic. It needs to be changed to reflect what the thread is about.
I hope this is not a repeat of Acclaim.
I hope since they are throwing cash around they outright purchase the Gold Key 3 and reincorporate them back into the VU.
Time to wait and see.

Good story. Poor placement in the series. Bad timing. Hurt momentum following Massacre.
Better served as a one shot.

Re: Britainnia: WWAATD #4 Discussion
I enjoy the world of Britannia and what this second mini did to expand things with Achilla. The ending didn't offer any real surprises or twists but I'm not upset at that. I feel it'll read a bit stronger as a trade, even more so as a Deluxe containing all 8 issues. However, we are likely getting a ...

Re: The Sovereigns Unites Gold Key Heroes (again) at Dynamit
Yes, I'm sorry I didn't spell out that part.
Only if VEI wholly acquires the properties. I figured this far down the chain that that mantra has been said enough times as to be understood when talking about VEI and getting the Gold Key characters back.
Sorry.

Re: Eternal Warrior: Awakening #1 Discussion
VEI is really nailing it with a couple of traditional characters like EW and Ninjak. Love to see them start to guide Shadowman this way. I believe that's what Rapture is meant to do. However this newly announced Rae one shot feels like a stumble. As to the issue I'm just glad Gilad is back and I'm ...

Re: Bloodshot's Day Off
This was a delightful one shot. I liked getting the backstory on Tank and Viet Man. I'm holding out that somehow Cold Man will return to us. After all, continual resurrection was part of their initial schtick so I hold out hope.

Re: Secret Weapons #2
VEI better not be making me get interested in new Psiots just to kill them off in 2yrs for Harbinger Wars 3. I have a feeling these rejects are going to learn to use their powers and grow them beyond what they even knew they could do. Livewire was my draw into this book but I'm glad to say I'm curio...

Re: The Sovereigns Unites Gold Key Heroes (again) at Dynamit
Looks like Valiant still won't be doing gold key characters. No need. Divinity and Myshka are both Solar and Erica level. Savage gets to kill dinosaurs. Rai slices up robots and teams up with others that may be sentient. What would we gain from Gold Key at this point? :hm: Rights to history of thos...

Re: Valiant Is Building The Next Cross-Media Superhero Unive
Valiant has been building nicely on a few fronts. Interesting of Forbes to take notice, I feel that says something positive towards what's happening at VEI. That said I also feel some stagnation has set in. It's time to fully set in and start having 10+ books a month routinely and regularly on the s...

Re: The Next Omnibus...
Hope this actually happens. I had all but decided VEI quietly ended their Omni line much like the Masters. We never did get that Eternal Warrior vol.1 Masters after all and the Shadowman Deluxe vol.2 has been sitting out there for at/over a year now with no explanation I'm aware of as to why.

Still unsure on what the end game is for these characters. I say that cause I feel let down about the choices made with Generation Zero.

Glad to see I'm not alone in going WTF? Rae Sremmurd, never heard of you. Unlike the Aerosmith issue from OG Valiant at least Aerosmith was an established act with credibility that longevity(despite the issue itself). I expect Rae to drop off the musical relevancy scene in about 5 years or less. All...

Re: Generation Zero to End
Can't remember a single other code-name. That's pretty solid evidence that a) I have early onset Alzheimers, or b) these are not memorable super-heroes. The Incredible Hulk was cancelled after 6 issues...then given another chance a few years later. Hopefully Gen Zero gets the chance to show they ar...
