Mark Waid is good but his writing is too lighthearted for a Rai book IMO. Rai is a pretty self serious character. It's one of the many things that makes him compelling.

OMG when I saw this at the end of Unity I nearly peed. The dude is such an amazing character. This thing will be on my pull no matter who writes it. I seriously can't wait

There's no way I'm dropping Shadowman after what I've heard and seen about #13.

It's went from the worst title I'm getting to my most anticipated.

If you were a first time reader and not a Valiant fanatic, does that story leave you with enough oomph to make you spend four books on the next issue? I don't really know the answer to that question since I already have a lot of love for the character and will buy ...

Not a bad first issue by any means, just not on the same level as X-O, Bloodshot or Quantum & Woody as far as first issues go.

How do people get the variants? I once got a pullbox valiant for X-O when I ordered issues to catch me up, but otherwise I have no idea how people get variants especially the rare ones. Midtown comics website I've found you can order them, is that how everyone gets them by paying those obscene prices?
