Re: Rai #5 Discussion
i for one didn't like this plus edition. thinking ill forego them in the future. Skipped over the middle story cause the art deviated so much, and it reminded me of that horrible cartoony Bloodshot story in BS 25. Tried the Rai QR, just to see how it sounded, and man was that SQUEE. Too breathy, ( g...

Re: Dr. Eclipse in Dynamite (sucks!)'s Solar?!
My thoughts; I believe the speculation that characters created in the VH1 Solar books COULD be Western Publishing properties via whatever deal VH1 had with Western; ( a possible reason Dynamite is using Erica and also Phil Seleski) what people are failing to realize, ( and Im disappointed no other V...

Re: Valiant Next poll
Actually it was meant to gauge overall interest in the Valiant Next initiative and their choice of titles to usher that in, was curious if most people were line wide excited, or mainly interested in just a few of the books. I think there's enough diversity amongst the titles to appeal to different r...

Valiant Next poll
Of the six books; The Valiant doesn't really grab me, nor do Ninjak or Divinity. Not a fan of this incarnation of Ninjak, and Divinity seems like a " fill the Solar void". Timewalker, while not my beloved A&A; hopefully will fill some of that void, Bloodshot Reborn? Im on the fence, hi...

Re: XO MANOWAR #30 Discussion
I'm thinking the armorines ( specifically the female with see through helmet, there's two types of armor seen) are ALOT like the armored scouts seen retrieving Bloodshot in issue 25. Similar design, whilst the Sgts armor seem like an upgraded version, as does Zahn's helmet

Dr Spektor #4
Dr Spektor #4.... wow, convoluded, zany, completely nonsensical. What a mess of a book, now I'm convinced this wasn't originally intended as a four part mini. Yuck, after this and Turok #10, I'm not even gonna finish the few remaining books through issues 12. This GK revival was a colossal mess, and...

Re: Project Black Sky
Captain Midnight #17. Good issue even though it jumped around a bit, and they kinda started it off in the midst of a story. Wish we could've seen the other Sharkbyte tech being floated out in return for criminal endeavors. That said it builds up the coming encounter between Cap and Chuck, can't wait...

Re: The Delinquents #4 Discussion
Read Delinquents #4, and what a hot mess that was, plus the whole treasure idea was just a colossal letdown. I shouldn't be surprised though, seeing as anything Quantum & Woody related is just a major bust for me. Slow comics week as a whole for me, and nothing really stood out this week. Hoping...

See that Dark Horse is offering megabundles of their universes this Black Friday. Re: Project Black Sky
Looks like Captain Midnight #'s 21-24 will be his last arc ( per DH Feb solicits) it will also feauture Archon, and a DH hero of the late 80's, The Mark! Ill be sad not to have a Cap monthly pull, but supposedly they're working on something else, so fingers crossed, Cap will feature in some way in a...

Re: Project Black Sky
Its a "hardcopy" version of the PBS free web comic. And the Brainboy/Captain Midnight feature is a reprint of their FCBD issue. Love the ApeX feature ( he was a part of CGW, Division 13 I believe)

Re: Project Black Sky
X#19..... wow what an issue. Really building this arc to a mighty crecendo. Heide, X all scarred/skinned, and Ruidoso and Leigh wondering what to do; lots of new input into what X is, and some interesting insight into the machinations that play in X's head. Phenomenal issue, only complaint is I have...

Re: Archer & Armstrong #25 Discussion
yuck, its issues like this that makes me put my Valiant pulls at the bottom of my reading list. The template VEI is using for their #25 issues just sucks. A couple of short tales bunched together, 1 of which is invariably drawn like a 2 year old ut it to paper, and a total distraction from the ongoi...

Re: Solar cancelled?!
It just looks like the new dates for those issues are TBD, unless I'm missing something. These are Diamond orders, they've (Dynamite) withdrawn orders for issues 6-9, they haven't for Turok ( through 10 at least) nor Magnus (again, through issue 10 at least); so there's something definitely wonky g...

Dynamite has pulled their solicits for Solar 7-10.....they still have them for Turok and Magnus up to issues 10. Looking like the gold key revival is kaput. Not gonna bother with furher issues. here's a link for youre own perusal: http://www.comiclist.com/index.php/l...for-10-22-2014" onclick=&...

Re: Project Black Sky
It's all in the execution. Deathmate was indeed largely Image's fault. They were literally making it up as they went along. There are indeed matchups/teamups that would be cool. X & Bloodshot (the fighters) Ghost & Dr.Mirage (the spiritual/supernatural) Occultist & Shadowman (the occult...

Re: Project Black Sky
I dont see a VEI/ Darkhorse crossover working out too well. Rarely do company crossovers work, if ever. I remember Deathmate was a disaster, Marvel/DC had some potential, but the conflicts fans wanted to see never materialized ( both companies didn't want their prized characters looking bad against ...

Re: Project Black Sky
Really depends on the tone youre looking for; For mystical check out The Occultist ( there's a one shot, and 2 minis) If you want gritty and violent ( think Punisher War Zone) check out X ( my personal fave), maybe other worldly / demonic ala shadowman, go with the Ghost mini, and her ongoing, the m...

Re: September 2014 Sales Discussion
Some things to consider; 1 Valiant retails for $3.99 while most market comics go for $2.99 That's roughly 34% more $$$) per issue So putting that into the equation you have to multiply VEI's units by 1.334 to get an approximate "market units" number ( ie $ equivalent to the rest of the mar...

Re: Can Quantum and Woody exist in the bigger Valiant univer
exactly Youd either need to fundamentally change other characters to fit into the Q&W form; or bice versa, change Q&W to conform to the greater VEI template. Neither a good option imho, although Im not saying Q&W cant be beneficial to VEI the publisher, just not so much to the Valiant un...

Re: Can Quantum and Woody exist in the bigger Valiant univer
do you really see Q&W crossing over with Harbinger, XO, Shadowman or XO as being beneficial or worthwhile? I see it more as degrading those books. Q&W going at it with harada? You'd have to impart a cartoony, ridiculousness in Valiants chief baddie, and that'd be a shame
