Re: ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH

Mine came yesterday. A box that could have fit four copies when a Gemini mailer would have been ideal. Thankfully no noticable damage. Haven't had a chance to read it yet, but the awful, generic spine treatment will look dumb on the shelf.

That "article" also says we got #1-5 but it was only the first three issues that actually made it to stores, right?

Re: Yet another Alien rumor

But no one is talking to your LCS from Valiant. Or Alien. Which is where the lie is. If the store is saying it's true, and swearing it, they are the ones getting lied to - and we need to fix that. You as a fan even should be worried someone is catfishing, and it should be checked out, - which is wh...

Re: Rumored plans from Alien books

Since the '90s I've thought that modern comics should have a higher page count, use digital coloring and lettering, and be printed in high quality paper stock with a cardstock cover. You're describing what used to be called 'Prestige Format'. I'm not sure if that term is still used. DC used to do a...

Hmm... Maybe I should get my digital copy of the Kickstarter. May never read it but need something for the cost (and ridiculously high tacked on shipping).

If you haven't, feel free to use the one I put together a few years ago for VH1.

It's a short origin story to promote the video game that was also announced in the comic. Felt like a mix of the original and current so a fun read. The video game marketing felt pretty rough draft.

Re: X-O Manowar Unconquered #1

I'm a bit disappointed that we have another story of our out-of-time-Visigoth being off-Earth because that means there's little point in him being an out-of-time-Visigoth. That said, the story is somewhat interesting and I'm willing to see where it goes. The artwork... It's not for me. Plenty of ind...

Jeez. Not even a re-solicited date for future release? I’d be curious to know what kind of preorder numbers they got for it… clearly it wasn’t enough to commit to publishing it. I'm pretty sure the creator payment ponzi scheme finally ran out of money. Taking the Kickstarter money to fund a bunch o...

This issue felt completely disconnected from the first two. I didn't really enjoy those either, but at least it felt like they were trying to put a story together.

Easiest way to tell is the UPC boxes on the later issues. All the JCP ones have swinging Spider-Man 30th anniversary boxes.

For the Adams era reprints, it's all about the ads. Modern ads throughout and an X-Men animated (I think) video tapes as on the back covers.

Re: Newsflash ….DMG release book worth reading!!!

You guys, Bloodshot Unleashed is so good. #2 kind of blew my mind. I'm glad you are enjoying it. I find myself liking most of the story more than I expected (could do without the imaginary kid but I get the why behind it). I just can't accept this as fully realized art. I've had the same problems w...

They solicited a book with one date and then announced its delay and then resolicited for another date. I wouldn't call any aspect of this a "promise."

Its delay was announced months ago.

Valiant is publishing one book a month now. Inexplicably they interrupted Book of Shadows to release Bloodshot. Then they will finish Book of Shadows. X-O is currently scheduled for March.

The line-up is appealing. Limited distribution continues to be a deterrent. The entire Kickstarter thing is unbearably obnoxious.

Bloodshot Unleashed #1

I went in to this with extremely low expectations. The FCBD story from earlier this year was absolutely awful, the little I had heard of Camp's Scout comics work was laughably bad, and I'm not a Davis-Hunt fan. So when I say this was better than I expected, that's faint praise, but it was better tha...

Ghost seems to be their go-to I.P. from those days. Dark Horse should've found a way to incorporate Next Men and Nexus into that universe to give it some more clout. I don't know the publishing agreements with Byrne or Rude, but those two properties were already with Dark Horse and could've added t...

Oh Geeze, Comics Greatest World. Have a long box of those sitting around as well. That was a slightly more readable universe than Ultraverse. Slightly. Got those as they came out as well, the 16 issue $1 comics. Haven't ever re-read them and don't remember a whole lot. Interesting premise with the ...

Re: Valiant First Series Question

Do you think the first series runs of Valiant comics will worth something in the future? Individual issues might but the bulk of those runs are going to be worth less that it would cost to mail them. Many of those comics are well worth reading. Well said. It's a real shame that the aftermarket legs...
