Thoroughly enjoyable comic. Just pure fun. Not a ton of substance (issue 3 of 4 seems to usually be that way), but not bad. Diggle needs a little dialogue massaging so the characters don't all have "I'm a bad *SQUEE*... and I'm gonna say eff you" sort of feel to every single one of them, b...

Wrapped up pretty early then was some montagy stuff. Really wasn't a lot on the story end though the loose ends were all done nicely. I'll miss this series. Skeptical about the replacement team, seems a big downgrade. Wish we got a little more of Kindt doing this.

It definitely feels like everything's disconnected and meandering in directions. I'm pretty close to giving up on Valiant. I know a few good creators are coming but I'm not sure it's enough.

I can't take this anymore. Do I drop and mess up my collection or just suck it up and wait for Tim Seeley?

Oh I thought I was discussing #1 when this was #2. These threads are getting confusing now that so many folk are getting pre-release copies, I don't know what's being discussed. My comment still stands though, perfect book.

Talk about underwhelming. Almost no story here, I still don't get how this works with continuity at all. I miss Ray. I miss his little girl. I miss the dog.

And honestly the art is like cheap indie tier. I've worked with better artists than this and that's not acceptable for Valiant.

And I agree with the podcast's observation that Diggle really, actually does his homework on everything he writes. I love that he manages to tie in his new work on Incursion with what we've seen before with Tama in Deadside, etc. I love new stuff -- but ignoring everything that came before is just ...

This whole series has been a "meh" for me. there's very little personal stakes here, it feels distant from the character. The art is kind of hard to get into as well. As folk noted, better than the first two issues, but that's not that high a bar.

Just read this. Very well done. Fun fight, good conclusion. Nice wrap up but leaves stuff open for the character. I just wish it wasn't ending. Diggle frankly did the best shadowman series yet from VEI.
