Archer & Armstrong 18 also goofs off the "God touching Adam" part of the Sistine Chapel. Trinity Angels 7 is the Showgirls movie poster. Some of the Gold Key Magnus issue reprints have the same cover (ie 1, 22; 2, 32). Finally, let's try for a complete list of the Acclaim knock-off mon...

The two Acclaim Solar 1-shots place him in paintings: "Man of the Atom" puts him into the "God-touching-Adam" part of the Sistine Chapel ceiling; "Revelations" puts him into Da Vinci's Last Supper.

I'm beginning to agree with Zephyr on this. Until there are *good* new valiants being published (I don't count the semi-annual Turoks over the last 4 years as such), it's dead. Examples: Atlas comics from the 70s: damn hard to find in VF/NM or higher. Cool set to own. Never be worth much except as a...

Interesting. I reject the "X-0 4 is key because it shows Jack playing the sax in a panel or two" argument. Sorry. That's just dumb, & the worst example of speculators grasping at straws at the height of the '93 hype. If anything, X-O 4 is fun since it's the first Harbinger cross-over. ...

Forget the Deathmate golds--which 30 cent variants?

I'm still trying for Warlock 12 & 13. Might have to go after the Werewolf by Night ones soon too. Obsession is a horrible thing.

I had a friend in college who bought a stand-up Arkanoid game...and within 6 months had set the world record for it. Now, apparently there's all sorts of bureaucratic hoopla you have to go through to qualify for the "Guiness Book of Video Game Records" or some such. First he had to submit ...

I guess this is directed at ComicKings, but open to others as well: What's your price point for non-rare pre-unitys? For instance, I recently passed on mint copies of Solar 1-4 at $10 per, as well as a VF/NM 10 at $10. Granted, I have 2-3 copies of each, but I just can't see Solar 1 as a $10 book. D...

Agreed. When I was in a comic book store that purported to have most valiant issues the other day, it didn't even occur to me to ask if they had VVSS issues. Just not my thing, even though I've acquired maybe 1/2 of them. Most of the reason I collect is nostalgia--& a 5th copy of Magnus 0 or Har...

Just got my best Valiant deal of the past year: Harbinger 1 (w/ coupon) Armorines 0 (Fall Fling) Unity 0 (Red) Archer & Armstrong 0 (gold) Unity 2000 preview Unity 2000 2 (sealed) Unity 2000 3 $50 total. Store owner knew what they were worth & even worked for Valiant back in the day. Plus, p...
