Re: How do we get the Valiant Fans 10th anniv. special cover
Valiant gives out the golds for supporting or promoting Valiant, right? What about giving these Valiant Fans edition books out for supporting or promoting the board itself? Start with a copy for everyone with more than 10k posts as a reward for keeping the board active? Oh, look at that, I have over...

I'd be interested in getting both last year's and this year's.

Re: Mechanics of why Variant Covers r important and how it w
As a former retailer myself (although that was a long time ago and during the best and worst period of time to be a retailer), I love the idea of returnability (even limited returnability based on whatever factors the publisher decides). That would really allow the retailer to take a chance on a boo...

If there was no returnability, hence increased risk, how would that effect your numbers?

Need advice on buying a collection
I've encountered a somewhat decent collection that someone is wanting to sell. There's a lot of silver age stuff. They've named a price and I'm thinking about it, but would really like some advice. I'd need to sell some of it myself to help recover my cost. To do that, some of it might need to be pr...

There were some great Easter Eggs. The mention of Dr. Strange, Sharon Carter, Abed, Stan Lee... But my favorite was the Bible verse on Nick Fury's grave stone..

Re: Captain America: Winter Soldier
Just got back from seeing it. I thought it was a pretty awesome movie. From the action sequences to the film's message about secrets, security, and freedom, and all the Marvel easter eggs between, everything was fantastic. If I had one complaint, it would be that a lot of the action was too fast for...

Re: Comic Book Storage Ideas
If you want something like the Comic Cubes, can cover the cost of materials and shipping, are not in a hurry (I only get workshop time on the weekends, and then not the full weekend), and depending on the amount of storage you need, I might could work with you on building something like it.

And those kind of things are great! If you want to give something, then just GIVE it! Why make it dependent on some meaningless task that someone else has to perform? I just don't get that.

Business and charity promotions
A friend of mine just posted to FB a link to this story: UNICEF recently teamed up with clothing designer Giorgio Armani for the latest campaign in the UNICEF Tap Project, which has been striving to increase access to clean water for children worldwide since 2007. For this latest scheme, they have c...

Re: Captain America #100 found at a flea market
Good find, and you might be right! The lines are an exact match. I've asked him for clarification. He only sent me the picture and I assumed it was the actual book. I asked him where he found it and he said a flea market in Texas. I asked how much and he said $24.95 and I said I'd pay that. That was...

Re: Solar: Woman of the Atom
Interesting. Doesn't that contradict what others from the old Valiant days have said? Or was Voyager/Acclaim/VEI owning their "Gold Key related" creations like Phil Seleski just an assumption to begin with? And where is the line drawn? What Mothergod? Geoff McHenry? Tekla? Couldn't RAI be ...

Shadowman was horrible... but only the fill-in issues by Mike Baron. Actually, anything he did at Valiant sucked.

Re: Solar: Woman of the Atom
If they were using Phil Seleski, which we're all pretty sure VEI owns, maybe the change is the result of a "cease and desist" order? If they have to kill off Phil and use a different character, why not really make it different and go with a female?

I remember buying CyberRad #1 at a Walmart in Carthage, TX. That was my introduction to Continuity Comics. And numbers 2 and 3 at a gas station. And I remember seeing WWF Valiant comics at Walmart as well.
