Re: The Vault ? Grading company ?

I know CGC is considered a reputable company, but as long as their grading criteria is secret and they have additional fees based on how valuable the book is, they just seem a little shady to me. Or maybe it's that the potential for shadiness is there.

Re: Organising your collection

Outside of Valiant, I've got my collection broken down by publisher, mostly. I do have a separate section where I have any and all licensed properties together, since they can jump around to different publishers. So any comics based on movies, television show, novels, pulp heroes, etc. are all toge...

Re: This is BIG

I agree with you guys that the article is crap and this is unlikely as yet. BUT Marvel do look to be pushing more and more towards digital as an actual alternative to print rather than 'as well as'. I still don't understand the thinking about taking one of their biggest characters and writers and m...

Re: Organising your collection

Every comic I have is filed in alphabetical/chronological order, ignoring articles (A, An, and The). So, titles are sorted alphabetical. Multiple series with the same title are sorted chronologically (oldest first, newest last). Then the issues of each series are sorted chronologically. So, instead ...

Re: Turok #2....

Well--the one other memorable thing about Steel Magnolias is that each of the main characters has a slightly diff. southern accent. So it's useful for aspiring actors to watch to hear the differences in a Georgia vs. North Carolina vs. Alabama accent, etc. Only film I can remember that has that lev...

Re: Turok #2....

The only reason I've seen Steel Magnolias is that it was filmed in my mom's home town while I was going to college there. It's also where I currently work. The guy who wrote it is from here and it's based on a true story about his family. For the movie, they used a lot of locals as extras. So watchi...

I've actually never seen it either but know the general story. However, I'm sure if you introduced dinosaurs to the mix, it would be a much better film. I have a book for you... http://www.amazon.com/Taken-T-Rex-Dinosaur-Erotica-Christie-ebook/dp/B00FI9JFFO" onclick="window.open(this.href...

Re: Image's Eric Stephenson's speech at ComicsPRO

While, as a kid, I was always interested in super-heroes and was somewhat into comics, any time I ventured away from comics, it was a licensed property that brought me back. Right after selling all my comics in a garage sale (not a huge loss other than sentimental as they were in horrible shape and ...

Re: This is BIG

I don't see this happening. I think if they ever go to all digital, they would lose a lot of readers. I for one, love the way a comic feels in my hand. The comic market has changed. The comics are just another revenue stream along with movies, tv shows, video games, theme park attractions, cartoons...

Re: This is BIG

Sounds like they are killing retail (Barnes & Noble) but keeping direct (Diamond and comic shops). At first it sounded like "no paper", but I think they just mean "no newsstand, just direct editions". :hm: That's how I read it too. In the "retail" market (Barnes &a...

Re: VH1 Shadowman Idea/Project

I'm anxious to hear what Dino says. I'm all in if he approves. But, honestly, I hope they have plans to turn Bob Hall loose on a full comic book production of this story. Based on Bob's willingness to participate in this project, however, that doesn't look to be the case.

Re: VH1 Shadowman Idea/Project

I have Bob Hall's plot to Shadowman #44. It's 8 pages but can easily be turned into 10 or 12. It's written VALIANT-style- full plot. I don't know Dino so can someone who knows him ask? Everything I want to do is in this thread. Send him a PM here on the board. He'll answer. http://valiantfans.com/f...

Re: VH1 Shadowman Idea/Project

I would LOVE to see a "Shadowman #44" by Bob Hall in any format. Although my preference would be something official from VEI, if that's not going to happen, then this is the next best thing. And if it moves forward, definitely count me in for a copy or two (not sure I can swing being an &q...

Re: Eternal Warrior #6 Discussion

I didn't care for the first arc at all. In fact, if it hadn't been for the teased trip to the year 4001, I would have probably dropped it after #4. But I'm really enjoying this book now. But the future post-apocalyptic wasteland trope is something I've always enjoyed. While I agree with the criticis...

You think the post office is going to say, "Oh, yeah, it happens all the time!" In my experience, every time the post office has a problem, it's supposedly extremely rare. But those extremely rare problems have happened enough that I avoid using USPS whenever possible. What really chaps my...

Re: Hello, Rai

I'm loving what I've seen of the new Rai so far. The teased artwork looks incredible. Kindt's approach, to fully know the city, the people in it, the government, etc. - make the city as much a character as Rai - and then move Rai around in it is sort of what should have been done with Shadowman and ...
