Re: Bad Idea rubbing people wrong?
They underestimated how many people would be interested in this first print run of ENIAC and said it's going to be corrected for future books. It was too far in progress to change, from what Dinesh told me on stream. It's FOMO I think but they'll make up for it. Heck, just the quality of stories th...

Re: Marvel Series 1 cards
Disposable income from the pandemic burned through sports and Pokemon and finally found comic cards. Act now, cause there's no way this lasts once people are going on vacations again. Or just paying for gas due to commuting. That and the possibility that when the people doing the current inflated-c...

Re: Bad Idea rubbing people wrong?
I think there's probably a large feeling of inner-circle elitism or something like that. Combine that with strong FOMO and you've got anger. Not that it's justified or anything, but you asked for a reason and I always go to the human behavior side first.

Re: Marvel Series 1 cards
Cards have gone crazy. I went from never having received a message via PSAcards where I have over 2,000 cards registered with scans (how I managed my graded cards) to getting random messages almost every day asking if I am selling or would consider selling. Given what has happened to sports (mine a...

Syd Mead's Prototype Blaster Replica.... https://i.imgur.com/xXZTy7wl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/fpo2ciGl.jpg This has a crazy story behind it. It was originally solicited in late 2017 by Chronicle Collectibles. The company itself went bankrupt and these blasters were hung up in distribution for years....

Re: Marvel Series 1 cards
I've been waiting for Valiant cards to pop too. The Marvel Universe stuff blew up because people are finding that it's very difficult to pull PSA 10's from the population of cards, and then that has generated that FOMO interest where everyone wants a set now. Marvel Cards in general are on fire thou...

Re: What comics are you reading now?
It's crazy to say this right now and given the last many years of content, but Iron Man, Thor and Daredevil are the best they've been in.... I don't know.... YEARS. MANY, many years. Those three books are very good. And honestly the Iron Man book is the best it's been since volume 4 (around 2006 & 2...

Re: KT making her 1st cover appearance on BS #10 exclusive
So this is probably a naive question but why would Marvel ever bother to do such small runs of later printings? If Marvel needs 1000 copies of a book for reorders I would think that falls under the "sorry, deal with it Mr. Retailer" threshold. I'm not sure of the exact policy, and things are so con...

Re: KT making her 1st cover appearance on BS #10 exclusive
That has seemed to be the case for many exclusives the last couple of years. And even ratio books. Seriously if there is a collecting resurgence in a decade by a new generation (which I find doubtful) but if there is, then 2010 - Current ratio books are going to be the book movers from this era alo...

Re: 2.6
By the way, previewsworld.com has now removed all information about The Final Witness as well as The Visitor #5 (while #6 is still listed). My best guess is The Visitor will only be collected and concluded in a TB. That would *SQUEE* me off if they start putting issues only in TPBs and not the fini...

Are you saying publishing only 2 books per month is a #BadIdea. I'm actually okay with it. At this point I'd rather have better quality than quantity to be honest. I do agree though, nobody at Valiant can still be working FT anymore at this point. Impossible! Only as a point of conversation -...

Re: Iron Man #1 1968
I decided to treat myself after overcoming a recent personal hurdle, so I went to the local shop and picked up an Iron Man #1, a book I've wanted for a long time. It's imperfect for sure, with some staining on the back. Still, it's probably a 4.0-5.0. I'm not quite sure because of the staining. A f...

I love my thread title. It reminds me of the "Whacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube Man!" things from Family Guy . Re: Completed my VH1 Collection
On occasion it went to Graham Crackers in Saint Charles, IL because I really liked the manager of the LCS. I think that's Dan. He is a nice guy. Took him years to warm up to me though. There were years I walked in there and he'd clam up like he thought I was going to reach over the counter and brea...

You're *SQUEE* delusional! DMG and YINJI parted years ago. Whatever *SQUEE* is going on at VEI right now wouldn't even be approved by the CCP if they actually were in charge. Do you really believe (rhetorical, please no more bullsh*t theories) the CCP would be okay with all the diversity and woke s...

That graphic didn't really show anything correlating I'm sorry That was, ironically, my point in posting the graphic. There is no correlation beyond the artist liberty. You saw a panel of Iron Man and invented a correlation. It's one of the many avenues into the american consciousness This is ridic...

Re: Some disappointing CGC results for someone...
My real issue with CGC is that the 9.8 is the appealing sort of market commanding grade. But the crapshoot between a 9.8 and a 9.6 is ridiculous at times - in many ways as it should be given the small difference on the scale. But I think everyone here knows that you could resubmit your 9.6 and provi...

Re: Some disappointing CGC results for someone...
It was me!!! OK, it wasn't me. The other option is the package/books were damaged in transit and CGC did not realize it. Check the pre-screen box, kids. Trust me. This post was... wisdom. I hadn't considered that possibility, but the combination of the shipping damage component and using the pre-sc...
