Re: VEI - what is their ultimate goal?

I'm a fan too. As a fan, I want new comics. We are going to do them right. To clarify the previously released statement, we will begin generating new comics by years end. And we are currently ahead of that schedule. This is the kind of information that I, (along with many other people I am sure), h...

The new comics contained in the hardcovers showcase our intentions to continue to tell Valiant stories in comics. If I had read the last sentence in that paragraph I guess that would answer my first question  edit: Actually, I guess it doesn't. There is no mention of if they are going to be m...

I imagine it has to feel good to be able to break out so many copies of your favorites. Like having your own comic book shop.

Cheers to you all.

The goal is to bring the Valiant characters to prominence. Comics are part of that plan (as we stated very early on). Publishing comics alone is not feasible. Awareness and anticipation are key to successful comics. Buzz from a world renowned director about a major motion picture helps cast eyes on...

I have a follow up question about the hoarding. Does being a "hoarder" affect what you'd like to see from VEI? Does it mean you are more likely to ant the stories from the issues you hoard to become canon within new VEI materials to raise the importance and/or financial value of the issue...

That is a safe bet.

An openness to either format definitely increases my chances of being able to enjoy whatever comes.

Re: VEI - what is their ultimate goal?

Very well written! :thumb: Chris I was definitely inspired by what you wrote! If VEI is going to be similiar to the company that holds the rights to the Gold Key characters, then thats fine, too. I just hope they license their characters to an operational comic book company ASAP - preferably Dark H...

Re: VEI - what is their ultimate goal?

Hey guys, I am growing more and more pessimistic about VEI and their intentions to publish new monthly titles so I thought I would start a poll to see if I am alone in my opinions. Personally I think that licensing their characters for movies and cartoons is their main objective, but I want to know...

Even though the announcement was not official, it makes a lot sense from a business standpoint on the part of DK. Valiant was a force to be reckoned with for a short while. I imagine they would rather not have that kind of competition again. I'm sure they know that taking Solar and Magnus out of th...

Great exposure for VEI.

Valiant Solar and Gold Key/Dark Horse Solar are the same in name only. Presumably, you can have the Phil Seleski character, which is NOT the same as the Gold Key character, still in the Valiant Unverse. Just use a different name. Magnus is a different story, since it is the same character as the Go...

When VEI makes a major comic publishing announcement I've no doubt this board will blow up over it. Meantime, Dark Horse made an announcement today that's carrying the day here, and rightly so imo. When looked at in a certain way - this is definitely a day for celebration. New comics for Solar and ...

Great post Jay Tomio! I agree that the characters are in great hands with Dark Horse. At the risk of sounding like a heretic again, could VEI license characters to Dark Horse as well? They could still pursue movie deals, etc. How about the prospects of a dark Horse/VEI partnership that could result ...

Perhaps Dark Horse could take some of the heroes from Comics Greatest World to interact with the Gold Key characters. Solar and Magnus helped launch Valiant, maybe they'll spearhead the launch of another comic universe. That was something I was wondering about. The question is, how? The most obviou...

I'd say option #1 is flawed, as Dark Horse won't be publishing Valiant characters. They'll be publishing characters once published by Valiant, but never owned by them. I also doubt that the stories will be able to have any connection with any of the Valiant Magnus or Solar story content. As far as ...

As far as the 41st century goes - without Magnus, my interest in Rai and Psi-Lords is limited. It could still work - and I'm not trying to hurt Rai fans by saying this. I'm sure the diehard Rai fans can see him taking over Magnus' role. No offence taken and I feel mostly the same. And I’m only inte...

The DC Captain Marvel is still Captain Marvel inside the comic. But on the cover and advertising he is refered to as SHAZAM!/ Power of SHAZAM! . So, Man of the Atom and Robot Fighter on the cover and Solar and Magnus inside should be a feasible way to publish. For Captain Marvel I believe DC owns t...

Maybe they can do a Captain Marvel/SHAZAM! on Solar, Magnus and Turok. Who owns Valiant reprinting rights for those characters? This isn't a Captain Marvel/Shazam situation. Dark Horse doesn't just have rights to the trademarks, they have the rights to the characters. It seems like a pretty complic...
