Re: Some Really Crazy Stuff Going On With Mile High Lately

A lot of people have mentioned Mile High and Lone Star but has anyone used NewKadia? I've used them a lot over the years, only about 2 hours from where I live, but they do not have a storefront you can visit. They have IMHO better customer service, better grading, better shipping, shipping fees and...

Re: Bloodshot Rights going to Paramount with Vin Diesel Bloodshot character recast?

Will be interesting to see if: a. Sony sees Bloodshot as a loss due to box office performance and earnings. b. Sony recognizes the COVID-19 impact on the industry, does NOT see Bloodshot as a loss, and looks to green-light a second film in an effort to recover from this epidemic. ... It still opene...

More than 350 miles to London (UK)....about 7.5 hrs by car and ferry; that's one way.... #BadIdea Or I could fly to Dublin. Might be faster and even cheaper (thanks to Ryan air) but still.... #BadIdea So, I'll probably mail order ENIAC (from Forbidden Planet/UK or the Big Bangie in Dublin) and that...

Re: Bad Idea Promises to Change the Comic Book Industry Status Quo

Despite stopping reading VEI books due to decisions by some of the team behind Bad Idea, I was more than happy to give the new line a try. While I am largely indifferent to variant covers, making variant story material was one of the steps which caused be to quit, so eschewing variants was reassurin...

Re: BAD IDEA

From what I remember, Ales Kot had a pitch for a Valiant book, but Warren wasn't sure whether he'd be a good fit for Valiant, so he let him write a mini (which one can easily ignore, or pretend is not in continuity) to see if he had a good handle on Valiant's characters. The results would suggest h...

House of M From the recent Phase 4 movie announcement details, I started thinking they might use this as a basis to bring mutants *into* the MCU... there was something about Scarlet Witch gaining her full spectrum of powers soon. I started speculating that she may also end up somehow involved in th...

Accell - I really like this book. I love the art on most issues. I don't know that anything new has actually happened in the last year of the book though. Seems like every issue has the same plot points with no forward momentum. Superb - Been onboard since the beginning. Generally speaking I've enj...

Re: Paramount signs first look real for Atlas Comics

Complete waste of resources and time. An example of a company trying to fit into the zeitgeist for their industry by latching onto anything they can. But if you look closely there has basically been zero success for shared Universes outside of Marvel and some modest success and recognition for the ...

Re: Print run of catalyst prime superb. Lion forge

I was thinking that their numbers couldn't keep the comic in print. Print numbers must be wrong, or international orders high. Lion forge who print catalyst prime, seem to have a bigger and broader publishing interest. Have not looked into it much, but noticed it on their web site. They might sell ...

I am really enjoying the Lion Forge catalyst books, but I am fully aware their monthly sales are dismal (so I hope they are doing better through trades). This news combined with poor monthly sales made me a little concerned to be honest.

Re: IDW publishing Marvel books? What the hell?

I wouldn't mind getting into this line of comics if they expanded the books beyond the initial 3 books, I loved the old Marvel Adventures line of "all-ages" books and this looks as if it could be a spiritual successor of sorts. If the sales support it I'd like to see them add an X-Men book, a Guard...

I literally just found out IDW is publishing comics on behalf of Marvel now. This threw me for a loop and I have to wonder why in the world this is happening? These books appear to be more on the "all ages" side, which is great, but again: Why? From the looks of things they're only publishing 3 tit...

Wow. Just ..Wow. Talk about high risk, geeez. That's a lot of cash to blow, I suppose the film industry is more like trying to find the next investment unicorn. Not always. Re: First look at Vin Diesel as Bloodshot

I like Greg's post about a bomb or flop. (Although not linked to sums below.) If I invested 300m on a film and it brought back 315m, I have made 5% on a large investment, but with ALOT of risk. Van Deisel big star lowers risk. 5% for such a huge investment is not worth it. Is it a flop? Bomb? No. N...
