Valiant Gold eBay auctions ending tonight!!! Still cheap!!!

I originally posted this in the wrong forum. oops. Hey guys, it's been a few years. I thought you might be interested in some stuff I have up for auction on ebay right now. Most of what I have up is current runs, and a couple of bronze age runs, but I decided to put some of my Valiant rarities up as...

I loved the "Forge" and Edge" collections. It was great getting so much quality and variety in a monthly book for so damn cheap. I think I will have to make a Crossgen list to fill in the holes around those series. I am trying to get all the TPBs and wouldnt mind getting the Forge an...

I think house ads are perfectly acceptable.

How about the "Yearbooks". We're they ad free? How awesome would it be to have a single volume of just the valiant yearbooks?

And how about Zero issues? Weren't X-O and Shadowman #0 ad-free?

A challenge in Valiant minutae... who's up for it?

I am trying to assemble a list of Valiant Comics that are ad-free cover to cover. Why such an obsessive-compulsive undertaking? I want to send away a collection of Valiant Comics to be bound in a single volume, such as those shown in the "bound books" thread. But I want that volume to have...

By the way, I seperated some series to send off to be bound after the holidays. Unfortunately, there are no Valiants among them. As I stated earlier, as nice as the bound volumes are, the ads in that format would bug me. Can anyone think of any ad-free Valiant issues? Maybe I'll send an assortment o...

He's smart to list them seperately, but if it were me, I would not be able to stand the thought of potentialy breaking up these volumes and sending them to different homes. I'm not typically obsessive-compulsive, but the idea simply can not reconcile itself in my head.

Re: More answers to more questions

My thoughts on binding my collection were: 1. They were just sitting in my longboxes, bagged and boarded and effectively never read. 2. I really, really enjoy my Valiants and want to read them. By binding them, I'm preserving them (not in CGC Mint condition for possible speculation/resale) but pres...

Crap. Going through my collection and I thought of a couple more procedural questions. Do you send the books bagged and boarded? How do you indicate to the bindery the order in which the books are to be bound? If you are sending issues 1 through 20, it should be easy enough. But what about special i...

Re: Questions, questions

but I'm very partial to this method of collecting. To me, it's a better choice than CGC slabbing. Please. Don't get me started on my anti-CGC rant. I LOVE the idea of binding these books. I'm trying to think of complete runs in my collection that don't have ads. Not sure why, but I think the ads in...

I also have a couple of questions. Actually, it looks like the guy above me asked some of mine. Remove the covers? How about the staples? Also, I'm thinking of sending books that are not on the higher quality paper used by Valiant. Specifically, I'm thinking of sending in my 26 issues of the origina...

Reading Turok #1 as your first comic is like losing your virginity to a prostitute. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Good analogy. But was it relly THAT bad? I remember the series kinda sucked *SQUEE*, but I vaguely remember the first issue showing promise. Maybe we should just remark all the covers...

I hate to poop on the parade, especially when I'm sure this thread is in jest, BUT... Does anyone really want to start burning books? I mean, think about it. Screw the value of your books. The only true value is what the books you love are worth TO YOU. Every comic can be someone's first comic. Don'...

I have a couple of episodes of The Green Lama old time radio show. If anyone is interested, I can upload them somewhere and post links.

Hard to get any hopes up as of yet. Doesn't it all seem waaayyyy too good to be true.

And having BWS on board would be beyond sweet.

Something else. Look within. What makes you feel complete? Owning a complete collection including all of the variants is quite a lofty achievement. But to what end? Why do you need to have everything? If you accomplish a sense of personal achievement, then that may be a good reason. But if the colle...

I hesitate to say it is the coolest ever. There will always be something cooler somewhere. But, I did give it a "5".

But bear in mind that I am largely biased by the excitement of seeing something from Valiant in print again. :thumb:

How does one measure coolness? Are we judging the book by it's cover? It's rarity? It's content?
