Brian Buccellato is pretty great, but I have no idea who this O'Connor is.

VEI 4001/4002- Chronological Order?
I'm going to be making a custom bind for all the 4001/4002 stories, and I wanted to double check with you guys on the chronological order. Here's what I have so far. Let me know if I'm wrong about anything, or if anything should be added. 1. 4001: X-O Manowar #1 2. Rai #13-15 (4001 AD tie-in) 3. Ete...

I've tried, but it's gotten to the point where I just skim through each issue on free comic sites.

Re: Is it time we all adopted new vernacular to differentiate between the different Valiant's?
The subcategories of pre-Unity or Acclaim-reboot-1998 are needed more for "experienced Valiant collectors" and don't have to be thrown at beginners. Going beyond those 4 simple groupings, we could have a brief description of the subcategories: VALIANT 1990s - 1991-1992 Jim Shooter's VALIA...

Is it time we all adopted new vernacular to differentiate between the different Valiant's?
I think this is a general understanding (correct me if I'm wrong): VH1 - OG Valiant, 1991-1996 Pre-Unity- The Shooter era, 1991-1992, including Unity. VH2 - Acclaim's era, 1997-1999 VH3- I don't fully understand how to describe this era, but I know it happened in 1999 VEI - Reboot Valiant, 2012-pres...

Re: I'm considering becoming a VH1 collector. Any tips or suggestions?
Ferg, you might want to just get an issue or two of A&A post-BWS run to see if you like them before committing to buying them all. Just my own personal opinion here, but back in the day I did not enjoy the creative team shift at all. BWS’s run is just so special that it’s a tough act to follow ...

Re: I'm considering becoming a VH1 collector. Any tips or suggestions?
Big thanks to everyone for answers, opinions, and info. This whole thread has been insanely helpful. Tbh though, considering the rather negative feedback I've been hearing about post-Unity, I'm thinking about reading stuff online first, then going back and collecting the stuff I liked. I really enjo...

I'm considering becoming a VH1 collector. Any tips or suggestions?
So I just finished BWS's Archer & Armstrong run, and holy *SQUEE*, it was fantastic. Now I'm feeling the itch. I haven't had enough Valiant in my life for the past few years, and I'm starting to think it would be really nice to dive into the OG stories that have eluded me thus far. I just have a...

Although I thought it ended strong, I wasn't super impressed with it. It could have easily been shortened to a tight 2 issues.

Re: ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH
My main reservation is that the creators are unknowns, given DMG’s horrific track record it seems like a big risk. :? EXACTLY! I do not understand how they've made $15k already. DMG has proven themselves to be an incompetent publisher, and the creators have zero experience. Why would anyone pay mon...

I'm gonna give it a shot, but it's so far removed from what I know Ninjak to be that it's extremely off-putting.

Re: Bad Idea is OVER!!!
I wanted to support the effort but when I started reading about how difficult it would be to purchase the initial issues, I didn't even try. I think the scarcity thing was bad idea. "Look how hard it will be to get our product!" is not a selling point. I wish the crew all the best and sin...

I honestly don't understand how or why they're staying afloat at all. Just give us another arc or two of Rai and call it quits.

Re: Read Shadowman # 1 TWICE in Two Days
Cullen Bunn seems to know what he's doing when it comes to the supernatural, occult, and horror. Punk Mambo was solid, and this first issue was too. Unlike most DMG books, I'm willing to give this a shot, for the first arc at least.

Honestly, I like the art style. It doesn't fit Ninjak, or the Valiant U though.

Shadowman (by Cullen Bunn) #1
I thought it was a promising start. I don't love the complete lack of connection to VEI Shadowman, but it was enjoyable enough. The artwork was Juan Jose Ryp-like and I loved it. Kind of a strange Shadowman design though. It's a significant improvement over DMG's last few outings. This issue alone o...

Re: How important is colour?
When folks talk about comic sales rising, they usually ignore that most of the growth is in manga. Which is black and white, thus making it cheap to print and can be priced competitively. Would it be a bad idea for Valiant and other American comic companies to experiment with printing B&W trade...

Re: Valiant Uprising FCBD 2021
She/they obviously don't care about our tiny community. They think they can somehow make a more successful company by finding an entirely different audience, without us. It definitely worked for Dynamite. Their versions of Solar, Magnus, and Turok are up to issue #100 by now, aren't they? :hm: I've...
