Re: So I just finished Unity... What Now?
Not gonna lie, I feel a little let down. Is this really all the good stories from VH1? How did it gain such a dedicated following if almost nothing post-Unity was noteworthy? :? ...and only 8 replies? I thought I was about get flooded with responses, seeing as this is the largest Valiant community o...

Re: How many "Events" has Valiant done?
I would only call harbinger wars, armor hunters, book of death and 4001 events. I think valiant definitely bills The Valiant, Divinity and similar minis as event series but in my mind they arent events because they dont have tie-in issues. Also, if you compare an event like Futures End from DC whic...

So I just finished Unity... What Now?
Although Unity and (most of) pre-Unity was great, I really have no desire to read every single title going forward. With that being said, are there any books that I need to check out before totally giving up on VH1? So far, I've pretty much liked every character/series equally, with the exception of...

Re: 17 pages of ads..
Oops I hope that's not a spoiler. facepalm I count 17 pages of ads in the X-O Annual. 43 pages of story. Stories good. Ads bad. That's really why I dropped the big 2. So many ads interrupting the story. Here there was only 1 ad interrupting 1 story. Other's were wisely placed in between the shorts ...

Re: How many "Events" has Valiant done?
So it would be safe to say one, at least, per year, maybe two. How does that stack up against Marvel or DC for the past 4 years? Well it's hard to compare, because when Marvel does an event it takes up the entire publishing line for like 5-6 months, while Valiant can have an event like The Valiant ...

Re: How many "Events" has Valiant done?
So, to round this one off, we basically all agree that the total number of events to date is 6, with no dispute on what the event titles were. Umm.. no, I disagree. I think it's safe to say that Unity was the first team-up book VEI ever published, and it just so happened to cover (almost) all corne...

Re: How many "Events" has Valiant done?
"UNITY" Not sure if joking or not, but I think you guys are forgetting about Unity. Sure, it just turned out to be a crossover between two ongoings, but it was kind of a big deal at the time. I consider it an event imo. The definition of a comic "event" is fuzzy at best. I...

When Did Jim Shooter Leave Valiant?
Just curious. I've heard the term "Pre-Unity" thrown around a lot, which makes me think that he left soon after Unity. Can anyone fill me in on a little Valiant history 101?

Re: I Like Valiant Comics
I like Valiant comics. I like the fact that they are a small interconnected universe. I like that I don't have to read 30 titles a month. I like that we are a small community. I like that I can read stories on characters I grew up with 20 years ago. I like that the CEO of Valiant is so enthusiastic...

Re: October 2015 Sales Discussion
Hard to believe that DC is at half the Market Share of Marvel, and that Image is around half the market share of DC! I mean, I understand how badly DC has seemed to be doing lately, but it's weird to see after so many years of them and Marvel hogging up 70-80% of the market share together. Isn't mo...

Re: X O MANOWAR YOU TUBE VIDEO- CK IT OUT & COMMENT TO HELP
I'll definitely watch this video, but I will never understand the appeal to Comicstorian. He literally just retreads what happened in a comic story. Honestly, I find it detrimental to the industry because it perpetuates all these superhero fans that refuse to actually read comics, and instead just l...

Looks real good. Already shows Nergal and references Dead-Side. Can't wait to pirate this online from someone else's PDF scans! Yup, me too. It better get collected in the Deluxe HC. EDIT: Wow, ok, there's a lot more going on in this thread than I first assumed... I have no problem with pirating, o...

How Should I Consume the Classic Valiant Universe?
So, I've decided to slowly go through the entirety of classic Valiant (and Acclaim... maybe), and I'm wondering in what order I should read this stuff in. Right now, I'm alternating between books, in order of release in preparation for Unity, but it's really kind of hard to stay excited day-by-day w...

Likewise, unless you are reading EXACTLY what that LCS owner/employee is reading, it is possible that he/she will not be overly enthusiastic about your comic book interests. The quality, history, and value is there, yes, but some people just want Deadpool, Harley Quinn, or The Walking Dead and noth...

Unity by Robert Venditti and CAFU with Robert Gill Rai by Joshua Dysart and Doug Braithwaite with Lewis LaRosa Ninjak by Duane Swierczynski and Pere Perez Jesus, what do you have against Matt Kindt? Just got the last of my Valiant VH1 bindings in. I would have to say these are one of my prized possessions, they have so much work and love into them. Maybe I just watch/read too much Walking Dead, but I will never understand how people can get so hung up on a character dying, especially a minor character like Kay. I mean, yea, it sucks, and I was pretty sad, but guess what? In huge, larger than life, battles like this (and every other superpowere...
