Re: What comics are you reading now?

I try to do one big re-read/marathon series a year. It helps my budget to revisit stuff mostly already in my collection. It was going to be Knightfall, but Heroes in Crisis and the new omnis for Infinite and Final steered me this way. :thumb: I try to do that every year or so with a long re-read of...

Re: Stan Lee died today

And if you ask random Joe who said that "with great power..." they will probably say 2 huge political or military historical figures before they quit and make that "say what?" look when you tell them the origin of the phrase. That's crazy. Stan popularized the phrase, but he did...

You may think I've been living under a rock for the last year, given that it was only yesterday that I first heard - and saw, with these 2 the earth will eat :bugeyed: - the Batawang. I really stopped following the industry and its news, for the most part. Azzarello and Bermejo on a new Batman story...

Next up: a re-read of all the DC Crisis... figured I'll be complete by the time the trade for Heroes in Crisis hits shelves... :thumb: Yeah, it takes a looooooong time, specially if you read not only Crisis on Infinite Earths (still one of my fav crossovers/events ever), Infinite Crisis (real...

Re: Undervalued Gems

All that said, I do like IF #14 as unvalued gem. I have no pretense Sabretooth's intro will ever reach values of ASM 129, Hulk 181, or any of the others during this time period, I personally still think this one has some room to grow. The character has not been treated well in the movies. The origi...

Re: preview of Bloodshot: Rising Spirit aka Valiant suck now

I'll probably be the only voice over on my side of the table, but I'm going to take a shot anyway. One of the best things about the original VEI 2012 run on Bloodshot was that there was a real and true sense of falsehood: at any given moment in the comic the reader could never really be 100% certai...

This is a really hard choice. Only one... :hm: I'll have to go with this one- lots of nostalgia attached to it and besides the fact that it is absolutely gorgeous and the cover of the first issue of my all-time favourite story, it told you right away that this book was not your regular comic . It fe...

Looking for advice from the Batman fans. I have always been into Valiant and Marvel. I have never collected DC comics. I just started reading the “iconic” Batman stories. Re: Uncanny X-Men #108 - 143 | Claremont & Byrne

One of the most iconic moments of this run, imho.
I love this issue (117, debut of Shadow King), and this particular sequence (after a tremendous "psi-war" between these 2) is just awesome comics. This doesn't need any words if one is reading the story.
