Re: Interactive Visualization - history of CGC grading for Valiant books

Was there movie rumours back in 2015 that caused the spike of Rai 0/EW4 4?

It would be interesting to see how many Magnus 1s and Solar 0s there would have been graded had VE1 managed to incorporate those trademark rights and publish the characters?

Re: WTS: CGC 9.6 Sig Series Bloodshot #0 (Platinum Error)

Maybe I should be a bit clearer; without me logging into gpa on my phone, has there been a premium in price on recorded sales? Without disclosing details, are you looking for a premium on this book over its blue counterpart? CGC sales records (from GPA) are here: http://www.valiantpriceguide.com/is...

Re: WTS: CGC 9.6 Sig Series Bloodshot #0 (Platinum Error)

I haven’t followed these sales lately, what’s the market on a blue versus yellow label? Generally speaking, yellow labels command a higher market value. However, with books like this, it sort of depends. As there are only 25 or so known copies, collector opinions will vary significantly. Maybe I sh...

Re: CGC Grading - Rai #0 slides into 2nd place behind Spawn #1

Wow! And what's the difference between Rai's print run versus Spawn? I'm happy I managed to sell both my 9.8s that I had graded near the top, as well as some extra raws I had lying around. We all knew there's an unlimited supply of high grade copies of this book and those highs in price were just no...

Re: Coronavirus and Comic Stores

It's a self-serving message, but I have no doubt he knows what he's talking about and has been predicting the end of comic publishing as we know it. I was in his store not quite 2 years ago. Hardly any new comics at all. I think he started to see the end with him pulling out of comic con, albeit a ...

I didn’t read that whole long rant, but I did catch this line ‘fans in need of financial assistance’, meaning ripping sellers off who are desperate for money! [emoji28]

If you can think of one that’s a substitute for getting a haircut at a barbershop I’ll be your first customer! [emoji28] Clippers with the standard numbered attachments work great if you can live with short (or no) hair. Ahhh a business idea to retain most of my hair.... Lots of choices on YouTube....

Re: Coronavirus and Comic Stores

Great post Steve, Sadly a lot of the local service-related businesses will close, but I am interested to see what kind of innovations come from this environment. Just the other day I was said, I wonder what business ideas people will come up with. If you can think of one that’s a substitute for gett...

Nope, all good, didn't take it that way. I just started looking for Comic's Greatest World variants and did a search. Haha! I just saw this old thread, man that takes me back...you know I bought this lot only because there was an EW VVSS buried in it? Good times....I don’t think I have that comics ...

Re: VH1 Harby 1 CGC 9.8, plus others - ebay auction

Well that's not great. This is why I hate auction style. On the other hand it definitely works for the seller sometimes. You take the good with the bad, Canadians are always used to getting less for their auctions...on the flip side I sold a run of ASM books for 1k CAD that I would have taken $650 ...

Re: VH1 Harby 1 CGC 9.8, plus others - ebay auction

I tried! I saw that, ironically the buyer is someone I know locally so I’m happy he won it. A bit funny, I don’t think he knew the book was even in Ottawa until I sent him a message...all buyers have paid aside from the xo which is a zero feedback buyer, ugh why doesn’t ebay allow you to prevent th...

I'm not hugely turned off by green labels, but the resale value is much lower. They are cool books. Out of my price range for these, but really nice nonetheless. https://www.valiant.fan/solar-man-of-the-atom.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I wonder if they would be val...

Nice books, Spreads! Love the old school .99 centers - should have no trouble achieving good sales with these gems! Thanks Woogie!
