I didn't have a single Valiant comic in June until I started reading this website. It's been really fun, yet expensive on the wallet, to collect regular back issues of Valiant comics. I had all of the pre-unity stuff and some post unity stuff at my parents that I recently rescued from storage. In te...

Harbinger #0 is a really good prologue to the series. I'm just upset that I originally cut out the coupons from Harbinger's 1 through 6 to get Harbinger #0. While waiting for the comic in the mail, Valiant releases the trade paper backwith a free insert of Harbinger #0. Had I KNOWN they were going t...

Such an amazing climax to the first six issues of Harbinger. I don't think that Pete said, "I love you" at the end of the story to Torque. It was most likely Kris who says this in the background. The bubble caption does not connect to Pete. Only in Valiant comics would a major character di...

Try reading the last 20 or so issues of X-O, now that's some awful reading. X-O #0 will seem a whole lot better to you after that. Fortunately, I'm a LOOONNG way away from reading those awful looking issues. I stopped reading valiant comics when Dr. Mirage was introduced. Everything after this poin...

I was terribly disappointed with this book. Having read X-O Manowar issues 1 through 5, then going to #0, I was shocked at how bad the zero issue really was. There was little in terms of dialog and absolutely nothing new in terms of character development. Too much artwork and not enough dialog that ...

It looks like chapters 15 to 28 have never been reprinted. Even the "originals" are reprints of the first 8 chapters. I was hoping that Dark Horse may have reprinted the back stories in their 2005 Magnus Hard covers. From http://terrenceberres.com/aliens.html Selections of these stories fr...

Re-reading a Universe

I'm now in New Brunswick and visiting my parents. In the last couple of days, I rescued my Pre-Unity valiant comics from the confines of storage. It's funny to see how I individually bagged and boarded my Valiants but basically threw most of my Marvels in a box. I've started to read Vintage Magnus 1...

Take your time building your collection. Half the fun is the anticipation of the comics in the mail. I went overboard in the past couple of months and purchased a significant amount of back issues too quickly. The SHOOTER Pre-Unity books are EXCEPTIONALLY good. They are just as good or better than I...

Captain Johnner & The Aliens

I just finished reading Captain Johnner & The Aliens #1 and #2 for the first time and was disappointed that only 14 of the 28 stories were reprinted by Valiant. The second issue stops with a cliffhanger. Recently, Dark Horse has reprinted Dr. Solar and Magnus in hard-cover format. Does anyone kn...

That's freaky.

Re: Revisiting the VALIANT Universe

Must be an inside joke :?

The only comics I'm collecting are Valiant and Defiant.

Today's Marvel comics look scary and uninteresting. They seem to be re-treads of story lines that were done much, much better by the classic writers of 15 - 30 years ago.

Re: Revisiting the VALIANT Universe

I've noticed that collecting Valiant comics can be highly addictive. There is a strong sense of anticipation as I wait for my comics to arrive in the mail.

I'm also counting the days until I can visit my parents and rescue my pre-unity Valiants from storage and start reading again.

Revisiting the Valiant Universe

I have to thank the creator and contributors of the Valiant Revisited: Valiant Comics web site for rekindling my interest in Valiant comic books. I came across the valiantcomics.com web site about a year ago, briefly looked at the site and book marked it for a future visit. This June, I went back to...
