My copy arrived in the UK a couple of days ago with no obvious damage. I look forward to reading it soon.

Re: ETERNAL WARRIOR: SCORCHED EARTH
Mine showed up with dents on the cover. top corner was dented enough to dent some pages also. I'm pretty damn displeased. it was just tossed in a box with not enough paper to protect/immobilize it. FFS. Sorry that happened to you - hope this isn’t going to be a thing for everyone, but if it’s poorl...

Re: Alien's VALIANT
Jonathan Hickman as main architect of a reimagined Valiant Universe would be a dream come true! His concepts are always well thought out and treat the original material with respect. But can he capture what makes VALIANT different from DC and Marvel, or would it just be the same thing they do but w...

VEI era hardcovers that never were - what would you want to see?
Sorry for the long title. Prompted by a small discussion on the Facebook group, what VEI issue do you think could be viably be collected into Deluxe editions (so think 8 or more issues)? Some that occur to me: 1. Eternal Warrior 1-8 plus Days of Steel and Awakening 2. Harbinger Omegas - to include O...

Re: Free Comic Book Day 2024
What might this contain? FCBD24_SILVER_Alien-Books_VALIANT.jpg Wow. Really, really bad anatomy. Every head is too small. Livewire's boobs are bigger than her head. The forearms are too short. X-O's right arm doesn't make any sense and what's up with his green face? Glass? Okay, but why? This looks ...

I got my 'shipped' confirmation email today (coming to the UK); it will be interesting how long long it takes to arrive given the festive period is imminent.

Re: Alien's VALIANT
What new VALIANT comics do you hope to see from Alien Books, and do you have any preference for who the creative teams should be? Hardcover collections, including some of the VEI era gaps. As for creators, people who I think would fit well with being slavish to the VEI and VH1 era teams: Core title...

Destroyer could easily be re-imagined as a variant/mirror/off-shoot of Divinity.ManofTheAtom wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 3:50:44 pmInteresting. But the Destroyer is Solar. Nice try, heh.

Re: Serious question...what did Heather Antos actually *do*?
Sorry to everybody for opening up this can of worms afresh, but seriously I'm confused about it... Re: Re-Reading VALIANT Entertainment
I am planning an X-O Manowar re-read though the HCs which will take me past when I dumped reading VEI, so I'm looking forward to reading for the first time what I missed out on. Awesome. In the first issue, when Aric grabs a piece of broken sword that he then uses to break his bonds and escape was ...

Re: Re-Reading VALIANT Entertainment
I recently started re-reading the 2012 runs of X-O and A&A with my son via the deluxe hcs. Have totally enjoyed them. He’s 10 and really loves the humor in the Van Lente run. He doesn’t always get all the more subtle jokes…lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It was an awesome run from FVL.

Re: Serious question...what did Heather Antos actually *do*?
The role in the decline of the books for elements of virtue-signaling and SJW themes was obvious even during their publication, but I think more importantly it is very telling that there are people here who previously dug-in violently on their defense of that and denial of these themes as "pro...

Re: In Hindsight, does anyone wish VEI would've kept the OG VALIANT continuity?
No, because that would simply have been fan-service to a diminishing audience from 25-30 years ago, let alone the GK3 headaches, and far from new-reader-friendly. It would have likely overly constrained the stories that Venditti, Kindt, Dysart, Swierczynski, Van Lente et al set out to tell.

Re: New VALIANT Comics
And that's the thing about VALIANT; Shooter made it Phil's story, which is why without him there something feels missing. Making the protagonist of his comic book universe a fan of comic books made him a stand-in for the audience, someone readers could very easily identify and connect with. VEI did...

Re: Yet another Alien rumor
Travis Escarfullery who was Valiant Director of Design and Production said "I'm not building an AR cover or explaining how it's done." once he was fired and they didn't pay him what they owed him which means he was involved with at least making that one piece of it. Even with the little t...

We got a whole bunch of negative Nancy's in this thread. Why is everyone so certain that these are lies? I mean they may be; that's a huge possibility, but I don't see why it's necessary to be an *SQUEE* to the guy that's simply sharing what he's been told. In fairness, I think he has objectively b...
