The Visitor #6
More of an overall review, but applies to this issue specifically too... Unforgivably clunky story with a very odd artistic choice.

Re: The Visitor #5
MJ Kim's art was boring. Soo Lee's is just not good (and I dug Fantomah). Add to that the 13+ month gap and decision to just hamfistedly throw in some Valiant universe references after being ridiculously subtle for four previous issues and this book remains skipable nonsense. Also, when is this taki...

Re: Shadowman (2021) #2
Glad you enjoyed it. In my copy those were hard to make out images that didn't add anything for me or change the fact it was 10 pages of repetitive dialogue in a 20 page issue.
But I'm not a fan of Bunn or Davis-Hunt work on general, so this execution wasn't likely to speak to me.

Re: 7 colored pages from Ninjak #1....and an "Outlaws" question
I looked at these when they were originally posted and was kind of indifferent. I usually love Parker and Pulido so wasn't too worried.
Then I just saw them physically in Shadowman #2 and the coloring is a HUGE problem. Hurts the eyes problematic.

Shadowman (2021) #2
A really strong, creepy 3-page start. Then 10 (TEN!!!) monotonous pages of Shadowman and Semedi walking around a ghost town. Then a five-page fight scene followed by a two-page wrap up. This book has horrible pacing issues.
The art ranges from static to unclear.

Re: Does CGC know how to grade?
How in the world is that 9.8?!?
On the other end, I got an issue of Edge of Spider-Verse #2 back graded 9.4. Neither the shop owner nor I can figure out why it's that low.

Yeah. I assumed as much. It just wasn't very well communicated through the art. Or any kind of reactions.

Savage (2021) #4
The good - The art was generally fun. There was finally some genuine character development and heart at the end. The bad - The art was sometimes unclear. Didn't realize the brother was the assistant. Still not sure if someone was actually shot. A little less chaotic background detail and more storyt...

Re: Shadowman (by Cullen Bunn) #1
It's better than recent DMG. Faint praise though. I really don't like comics that are just everyone monologuing For the most part, this was that. And definitely felt like an issue in the middle of a long run and not a first issue. I came into this a big Davis-Hunt hater (work on The Wild Storm was a...

Re: May Previews Ninjak RETURNS!
This was announced almost a year ago, so there's a whole thread about it here . Not sure why Jeff Parker's bio is "mundane and pedestrian" to you. Seems rude. He's been writing comics for over 25 years. His creator-owned stuff like Fallout, Interman, and Underground were great. I've found...

Re: Two more things I learned about jim shooter
Shooter's involvement in these franchises was detailed a decade ago by Jim himself on jimshooter.com. Not sure where your version is coming from but they are grossly exaggerated. Transformers - Yes, he wrote the initial treatment and provided the framework for the back story. Yes, that treatment nam...

Re: ValiantFans.com inventories (you remember those) > NEW hobbyDB option
Is there anything unique here with this? I loved the old catalog and points system here, but already track my comics with two other sites. This just seems to be another standard catalog system (with some particularly clunky aspects).

Re: VH1 story chronology reading order
Hi! I recently got all the early years of the original Valiant, and this reading order is priceless! Thanks for taking the time to create it. It's clear why some of the issues are out of order (Magnus issue 20), but there are a few others that I wanted to double check are deliberate... For example,...

Re: Counterfeit Valiant book UPDATE , FYI
What sides?!? There either is or isn't counterfeits. No one can prove a negative, so the burden of proof is on the people claiming they exist. No one making these claims has done that or provided details other than which books were counterfeited because, again, the rest aren't details just vague plo...

Re: Savage (2021) #3 Discussion
This book so desperately wants to be funny (for some reason) it's painful. Failing in all the same way VEI's approach to Q&W fail every time. Jokes without substance aren't actually funny.

Re: Counterfeit Valiant book Red Alert 911
I have told you all the details.. One detail has been provided - pre EW #1. Everything else is vague assertions. Have I made any claim that's bogus? Your claims haven't been proven or disproven yet, but the burden is on you to have them not be bogus. The question is irrelevant. The main contention ...

Well, it was magical. Now it's yet another valiantfans.com thread that devolves into personal political belief diatribes.
What happened to that day when one third-hand account was yelling at the merits of another third-hand account?

Re: Does DMG Valiant have a future?
Valiant was barely making an impact before DMG's takeover. What's come out since is non-existent to the wider comic audience and laughably bad to those of us dumb enough to keep buying.
I am surprised every time an issue shows up in my pull box that Valiant hasn't folded.

Bloodshot 50 Project
Your standard Hero Initiative cover project book. Some great (Bob Layton, Ed McGuinness ). Some terrible (Jason Pedersen, Adam Warren). More interesting was that, despite this being the cover project for Seeley's #1, they included a full reprint of 2012's #1. Because, you know, they wanted something...
