Re: What comics are you reading now?

Ten issues into Immortal Hulk and I am absolutely loving this title. Thought the title of “Immortal” Hulk was going to play out as a cheap gimmick - boy, was I wrong! Really dark tone to the series, with a really rich depth to the character that I don’t think he’s had in *years*. Dips more than it’...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

After reading Mr. Miracle last year, I picked up Female Furies today....what a waste of money. Bad writing, stereotypes of women that did nothing to enhance the story, and the use of Big Barda made no sense nor supported the continuity of the Mr. Miracle series.

I picked up the new Conan #1 by Marvel. I went in with low expectations. I will be adding this to the pull list. Dialogue and art are top notch. I was a big fan of Dark Horse's version, but I am excited after reading issue #1. Looks like Conan is in good hands. Wow.... I might have to check this ou...

Re: Beginning of 2019 State of the Comic Book Industry

And right now these people aren't even buying homes. They aren't buying anything that is significant, and we are talking about a generation where the high end is now beginning to crank their 30's . Most of that generation is not accumulating wealth so the future looks bleaker for comic collections.

I buy all my comics from Local shops. Thease are my fellow folks from my city my contry and I enjoy supporting their buisness because if I buy off line shops will close like they are and they will be gone for ever. So think about that when you buy off line. I understand what you are saying, and tha...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

Lots of great covers from Savage Sword. It's one of my long term goals to start picking those up on the cheap for a binding project. Yeah, the covers are the initial draw... just so much eye appeal. But the stories are complex and fleshed out in a way you don't see in comics today. And the art is a...

The Ultimate Fallout newsstand discussion got me thinking about these. They are in full steam now, several issues in and whenever I glance at the blue organizer at Wal-mart, it seems that there is a new title there - a Christmas special, or obscure Swamp Thing book. These nag at me like someday a h...

Re: Bloodshot 0 Platinum on Ebay

I think this book has been relisted every few months for almost a year. I think the fact that it's not graded and has some creasing on the spine and indentation on the back is why everyone seems a little tepid to jump in. At that price, I think most people want a 9.6 or 9.8. Great copy for people w...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I picked up a stack of reader copies (in pretty decent shape) of the 1970s magazine format Savage Sword of Conan . Just got to issue #5 and wow, it's great stuff. Story by Roy Thomas (adapted from the Howard original) and b&w art by John Buscema. 55 pages of story, beautifully rendered! For onl...
