Re: Curious...is XO in Harbinger Wars? ArcherArmstrong? EtWa

Harbinger Wars (the first one) stars the Renegades, Bloodshot, HARD Corp, and Generation Zero. It's less of a war and more of a battle that takes place in Las Vegas.

What happened to the pregnant lady genx saved after the mexico incident. I believe this was resolved in the Generation Zero series. It was in Harbinger: Renegade ... She was killed in the Massacre issue of Harbinger Renegade. Her and the kid in her belly were gunned down while trying to protect the...

Re: Incursion #4 Discussion

Picked up the trade this week so I'll post my thoughts here for the whole series.

I thought it was solid. Some dialogue was a bit silly but on the whole it was a good story. It felt like a proper Valiant book!

I was coming in here expecting to see this comment made by Dallow Spicer1  I’m just saying what we’re all thinking, and you did too as soon as you saw the news! :P  Agreed! It's kinda hard to deny at this point. :( The VCR episode summed it up best when they brought up the SoS cover with ...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Ninjak Villain Roku Returns For First Solo Se

I have lots of thoughts. 1. Roku is awesome. 2. Roku's superpower is awesome. 3. The cover is pretentious and lame. ...and needs more red. 4. I don't mind the interiors, but I agree with AnarchoMambo. It looks a little 'Marvel.' 5. Cullen Bunn seems promising. 6. I'm going to wait to see if Punk Ma...

Re: EXCLUSIVE: Ninjak Villain Roku Returns For First Solo Se

Not really feeling the art/direction. The redesign looks terrible, IMO. She is barely an established character why redesign her costume? I like Roku as a character but this is a hard pass. Another female b-lister? I wonder if there will ever be another book that gets me excited about Valiant again?

Re: I started my first Armor Hunters read last night

Trevor Hairsine is an acquired taste. I wasn't too keen when I first encountered him either. But then he began to grow on me and by the time I read DIVINITY I was completely in love. Now he's one of the many artists I associate with Valiant exclusively and I look forward to seeing his work.

Re: I started my first Armor Hunters read last night

It might have been a blessing to read the TPBs in the entirety, then start over and let your brain relax. That's what I do. I like the consistency of one writer and one artist rather than flipping back and forth to different series. I look at it like Rashamon. I read the main series then go back an...

And I'm just going to make a wild assumption that they didn't need to push variant covers to reach those numbers.

Re: The future of comic book collecting

I honestly do not believe that we will see 5 million copies of a comic book printed and sold to the masses again. That time has passed. I realize this is practically an apples to oranges comparison but for curiosity sake I looked up what the numbers were for the bestsellers in Japan, very eye-openi...

Re: Bloodshot: Rising Spirit #8 Discussion

Geez it's a comic man, get a grip. While I can't speak for others I will say the whole "you can't say you don't like something unless you buy it" has always been a rather ridiculous stance IMO. I'm over 40 years old and know pretty well at this point what I will or won't like. Why spend mo...

Re: Bloodshot: Rising Spirit #8 Discussion

Nonplayer you don't have anything to prove. Like what you like, who care's if other people get weird about it. Literally no one in this thread likes this crummy book, nor should they. As for VCR's question if this is the worst Valiant (since 12012) has to offer. I'd say it's up there. For me persona...

Re: Bloodshot: Rising Spirit #8 Discussion

No problem. It's an easy way to keep an eye on what's coming up. Also, Amazon usually gets Valiant trades a few weeks after the direct market local comic book stores do. Just something else to keep in mind.

The lack of Rising Spirit stuck out like a sore thumb to me last time I checked.

Re: Bloodshot: Rising Spirit #8 Discussion

There's usually a placeholder on Amazon that goes out about 6 months. The new series by Tim Seeley is already up for pre-order but no sign of Rising Spirit. Now, only the Diamond solicitations truly matter but advance solicitations via the bookstore market are very telling. Sometimes things get canc...

I think it's very telling that there is no trade paperback collection of this series on the horizon. Surely a first for NuValiant, LotG aside.

I was gonna add that I miss the double size special issues and annuals they had going for a while there. They had series and annuals and one-shots and bigger issues all adding support. This series maybe could have used some help. Back-up stories that made us care about the characters on Gorin, flash...

Re: X-O Manowar [2017] #26 Discussion

I just read this too. This arc was soooo decompressed. There really wasn't any meat here. I read it so fast I thought I missed something so I read it again. Would have worked better as an OGN than as monthly singles. Every character involved came off very one-note and kept repeating the same things ...

The Book of Death shows potential futures with Helix falling in love with Sunlight On Snow, and Quartz on a Unity team with the Zygos Twins.
