Oh ya 1991 guide value of Detective 27 in Fine was $15k. Anyone around that time remember sales of the book? Had a chance to buy both batman #1 and Det # 27 for £4k a piece in '88, but couldnt get the funds and my mother who had recently received money from a house sale put into a pension whi...

Gotham City Sirens is on fire due to movie speculation. I didn't even know about this book a week ago. These issues sell for between £7.50 and £15 a piece over here already and have for the last few years, so look for these to skyrocket, being printed just before DC dropped everything for the New 5...

Re: Undervalued Gems
I think X-Files 1 from 1995 might be an undervalued gem. It's the first comic appearance of Mulder and Sculley, and I think it's a great property that really has a place in pop culture. Plus, I don't think the print run is very high. Agreed if they keep the license alive or it keeps its fan base. A...

Guys, sorry to bother but I have a question in mind: is the Longbow Hunters #1 a "gem" (1st Shado)? I found a F copy (maybe higher, no creases on the covers, pages are super clean given it's age) of it for 5 euros. Not wanting to flip it or whatever, I bought it because I want to own the ...

The whole line was quite underrated, but printed at a time of immense glut, so slipped under the radar in a time where people could not afford to try everything and see for themselves

Still finding the odd book here and there on Comico in general, though the more obscurer ones for sure. Just read through this thread and didn't see any mention of the tangentially-related adult fantasy series Ironwood that Willingham did for Eros Comix. Apparently, the main character does appear -...

Re: Is anyone buying the new Badger series?
No. I know of the character just never really tried him. I read the write up in the LCS paper freebie, ComicShopNews, and he read a bit like a poor mans Animal Man. I wasn't sold on the character. published successfully as a mature readers title that was outstanding in the 80's way before animal wa...

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
The New 52 continuity wouldn't be a mess had DC not cocked it up from the word go. They made problems from the top down it's got nothing to do with how hard it is to maintain. It's all down to deciding that when starting over from scratch that Batman couldn't be affected but everyone connected to h...

Re: CBR LEAVES VEI OUT FOR 2ND YEAR IN A ROW!
You can't base quality OR popularity on what CBR writes an article about. I would be ASTOUNDED to find out that that the coverage that Valiant gets on "news" sites like CBR isn't bought and paid-for advertising. One of the things i first noted when the new lines were published was exacly ...

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
Nothing sells better than number 1's, which is pretty much all that can be taken from this. Continuity stopped being important at Infinite Crisis and the poor 52 series they did a decade before the 52 reboot. Anyone wanting continuity done right is here on this forum for that

Re: Any board members here collect / invest in LEGOs?
Just saw the Ghostbusters firestation, while looking at stuff for my daughter. Very big, something like 4500 pieces (I think). You do this yourself or with the boys? I basically pooped my pants at the £275 price tag and they were out of stock anyway, so bought Ecto-1 instead with some xmas money gi...
