Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins
"Seems" and "fact" is a little incongruent, imo. Washington Post: "A record number of U.S. adults identify as LGBTQ. Gen Z is driving the increase." "This year’s record high includes 21 percent of Gen Zers who have reached adulthood — which Gallup defines as those...

Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins
Ah yes. Suddenly overnight 20% of the population became homosexual. Sounds totally realistic. I guess we're destined to live in Gay Superman's world from now on. This is just the brainwashing (dare I say grooming?) kicking in. The trans fad started a few years back and now every third girl think sh...

Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins
Not a fan of that either, but making Superman gay is just stupid. Oh... yea, I don't care about that at all. 1 in 5 Gen. Z'ers identify as LGBTQ. It's totally understandable that Jon could be gay (bi?). Honestly, this push to inject homosexuality into every comic title is childish. It's like a kid ...

Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins
Not wanting to participate in a mass delusion that a piece of cloth somehow prevents the spread of a virus that is airborne when there is a mountain of scientific evidence showing that masks are not effective both pre and post pandemic makes you conservative? Not necessarily, but that, alongside ev...

Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins
Who cares if he's conservative? He likes a particular style of comic and wants to read that without being forced to read something he doesn't like. I'm pretty sure he's entitled to that, unless that offends you? In which case, then you're probably the problem. The push to make comics that appeal to...

Re: The Woke Comics Backlash Begins
lol that *SQUEE* is going to be $35 for 96 pages and will not be in comic stores. I am very interested in a new superhero shared universe, but I can't invest in a universe with those kinds of prices and slow release schedule. Also, this post = tell me you're a conservative without telling me you're ...

Re: Year of Valiant FCBD 2022
Man, that FCBD special stole away all the good will that Valiant has been building with Shadowman, The Harbinger, and Armorclads (for me). Bloodshot sucked, Ninjak sucked, A&A was okay, the Armorclads preview was pointless, no teases for future series (besides Ninjak, if that counts). I needed m...

Re: Monster Kill Squad #3 (Bad Idea)
I mean you and I apparently see things differently lol. I suppose my list comes out to 20% miss-rate, but like you said, if you include the B-sides, the percentage would drop quite a bit. I don't think that's bad at all tbh. Valiant missed every once in a while too. ENIAC- HIT Slay Bells- hit Tanker...

Re: Monster Kill Squad #3 (Bad Idea)
The line has been a bit hit and miss, maybe Warren allows too much creative freedom in some instances but given the cost and trouble to get the books they must do better than this. Really? I think the line has been solid across the board... excluding this and The Lot, and even those weren't that bad.

I think all three of these sound great tbh, but we're still stuck on 3 issues-per-month. Just give us four damn it!

Re: I'm considering becoming a VH1 collector. Any tips or suggestions?
From watching Facebook posts in the various Valiant groups, I'm always amazed at what people find in the the dollar bins. So my tip would be...always check the dollar bins! Well that's unfortunate. Years ago, Omaha's LCS's all were seemingly chock full of old Valiant's. I just went and flipped thro...

Re: Valiant just launched an official Discord
I think you misread me, whether intentionally or or not. My point re: time was that they had plenty. They had thirteen years, seven of those in publication. You're, whether intentionally or not, splitting hairs. It was approximately 5 years. 2013-2017, half of 2012, and arguably half of 2018. I agr...

Re: Valiant just launched an official Discord
Actually 13 years from acquisition, so arguably plenty of time. They maintained a self-imposed limit against growth of line, and their core audience wasn't grown from artificial gains from variants and number ones. So yeah, plenty of time. Reboot Valiant is literally the most successful, consistent...

Re: Valiant just launched an official Discord
He had 5 years though, didn't he? :? Which is... honestly not much in the grand scheme of things? :? It's weird how you're trying to diminish their accomplishments. Think about how long it took Marvel and DC to get to the point where they're at now. When you look at the numbers, Valiant was actuall...

Re: the harbinger #3
I don't hate it, especially when comparing to both Dysart's Harbinger and Harbinger Renegade. It seems to have a solid goal in mind for Peter, and now that it's 3 issues in, I honestly don't mind this direction. Pete's gone through a lot. Maybe it's time for him to embrace being a true "superhe...

Re: Valiant just launched an official Discord
a) The sales really tumbled in the second half of 2017 and b) Harbinger Wars II came out in Spring 2018 and was already heavily altered from Dinesh's plans. Didn't feel like trying to parse out what was and wasn't DMG. a) Okay, I was more responding to this: "the quality hasn't been there at t...

Re: Valiant just launched an official Discord
My point being, the hardcores can't keep the brand alive. There isn't enough revenue from such a small group. That's proven itself over how many iterations of Valiant now? Five? Granted, the quality hasn't been there at the end for any of them (inlcuding Dinesh's run), but even if it was the diehar...

Re: Valiant just launched an official Discord
I genuinely don't understand why Valiant would do this. It's like they refuse to cater to the real fans, and instead try to go after these weird markets that don't give a *SQUEE* about comics. What's the rationale here? More importantly, why didn't they share the link here? Seems like they really do...

Re: FCBD 2022….DMG never learn!
Why are you even expecting A-level talent? I'm just hoping for good stories. Larosa, Giorello, Kindt, Lemire, Clay Mann are all A level talent as were VDitti and Dysart, we just didn’t know it at first. What's your point? It's been three full years now, in which DMG has made clear that they aren't ...

Re: FCBD 2022….DMG never learn!
It’s not exactly A level talent is it? And given the track record of bringing in lesser knows/unknowns then it’s doesn’t inspire confidence. Presumably DMG aren’t paying out for A listers. Why are you even expecting A-level talent? I'm just hoping for good stories. I’m not an an A&A fan but if ...

Re: FCBD 2022….DMG never learn!
I'm not entirely sure if this warrants negativity yet, as it sounds kind of promising actually. I like Mike Norton and Jon Davis-Hunt, and I really like that A&A are coming back. Plus, the cover looks good, and the fact that they're focusing on more than three properties seems like a step in the...
