Re: Eternal Warrior #1 Discussion
I really looked forward to this book (and still do), but it didn't feel like it was a strong #1. I'll admit, part of it was because I read all the previews and so I felt like I had read almost the whole issue already, which I had. another part was that my excitement for this book was kind of drained...

I like how Valiant always has a new arc starting every month, even when they don't have a #1 out.

I think it was more the endless reboots that did it in for LoSH. COIE, 5YL, Zero Hour, 3-boot, Infinite Crisis, New 52...hunter_peterson wrote: That one didn't even go down the can because of declining quality, like LoSH did/is.

Re: Summer of VALIANT 2014
Rai has to be coming next year. After that, Timewalker and Dr. Mirage have the most potential IMO. Then there's Ninjak either in his own series or an ensemble (like Secret Weapons :D ). I think Ninjak and Timewalker are the most likely to get their own books, since they've appeared several times al...

Re: is Valiant "different"?
I think the original Valiant had some great market advantages when they first launched. Marvel had just suffered a huge brain drain of artists jumping ship to Image and Shooter going to Valiant. up until then, there had never been a serious 3rd party contender, Marvel and DC only had to worry about ...

Re: Why Change the way they look for a reboot?
how many characters today still look like they did 20 years ago, even without a reboot? Superman? Batman? Spider-man? when the DC universe was rebooted, some of the characters were downright unrecognizable (Harley Quinn???), the only one I think was so dramatically altered in concept and appearance ...

Re: Valiant Entertainment - July Sales Estimates
i do believe them when they say they're quite content with the numbers on q&w. i think this is what the relaunch of a "cult series" which never sold a lot of comics in the first place, can do. going by comichron, this new Q&W #1 seems to have sold better than the original in 1997....

Re: November solicitations
now that I've mapped these out on my calendar, I notice that VEI never seems to put out any new books the last week of the month (Sep 25, Oct 30 is a 5th week, so that maybe doesn't count, and Nov 27), is there any particular reason for that? they'll have 8 regular series then, couldn't they be rele...

Re: November solicitations
Valiant does seem to crank out those TPB's pretty quickly, don't they? before I started reading Valiant, I never got people who trade-waited, but of course, every other company makes you wait 6 months to a year to catch up in trades. I don't have the patience. I need my monthly fix. I was a latecom...

Re: Unity .... what does it MEAN?!!
I'm perfectly fine with them re-purposing a title. in fact I'd prefer that to them just trying to re-tell Unity without Solar. no matter what, they're never going to capture the same lightning-in-a-bottle that was the original Unity, but if they're using the brand name then I just hope they find a w...

wow, never saw that coming. Another My Valiant Story
Like a lot of people, my first exposure to Valiant came in the early 90‘s. At that time I was still a teenager on a limited budget and hadn’t yet attained the financial independence of a minimum wage job. Fortunately, back then comic stores had a thing called a 25-cent bin. Buying new comics was a r...
