Re: How confident are you in the Valiant Cinematic Universe?

I think there’s a difference between a movie franchise and a cinematic universe. I think Bloodshot could be, and very well may become, a movie franchise. Maybe even combined with Harbinger, there could be 3-5 films. I am less enthusiastic about the prospects of a VALIANT Cinematic Universe that inc...

100-PAGE GIANT COMICS FROM DC AT WALMART STORES

https://www.dccomics.com/blog/2018/06/22/100-page-giant-comics-from-dc-at-walmart-stores-this-summer I know this is a few days old but I've not seen it posted on the forum. What are folks thoughts on this and the news that Gamestop will start carrying direct market comics on a spinner rack? I reall...

SiDEBAR - COMICS, ART + POP CULTURE podcast

Maybe this isn't the right forum to post this but it's a podcast about comic books. SiDEBAR is one of my all time favorite podcasts. It was a sad day when they announced they would no longer be doing it and they removed them from the internet. I was very glad to find out that another listener and fa...

Still waiting for his Monster GN and the Paradoxman collection :? Thanks for posting this. I've been waiting for that Paradoxman co...

Personally, I think you should listen to all of them. I've enjoyed OTV for many years in all it's iterations.

Besides, you'll miss the story of the old co-host running out of his house shirtless to tell the cops to get off his lawn. At least, that's how I remember it. facepalm :D :P

Re: How confident are you in the Valiant Cinematic Universe?

First of all, I'm glad to hear that the movie news brought you to the comic. Did it bring you to comics in general or just Bloodshot and Valiant? I've been disappointed that movie or TV success has not led to more comic book success. I'm in the camp that Valiant can have a successful film but I'm no...

Re: Jawbreakers: Lost Souls Indiegogo comic

I wish Shooter would get back into creating something. I would like to see him to get the Defiant universe back or even Broadway. While neither was quite to Valiant level, I think there were enough good ideas to work with in either of those universes. He doesn’t own those anymore, either, though. P...

Re: Does VEI need more Iconic Villains?

I see David Camp as possibly becoming the new Dr Eclipse in a way, at least in the same way you could say Divinity is the new Solar Man of the Atom. But obviously there's key differences between Solar and Divinity in the same way Camp is radically different from Eclipse. I'm not sure Eclipse would ...

Re: Does VEI need more Iconic Villains?

Did XO have a arch-nemesis in VH1? I can really only recall the Spider Aliens which were more a group than one single character. I know there was Ax but I'm more thinking of someone more formidable in the original run. I realize Dr. Eclipse would probably not make sense in the new Valiant universe b...

Re: What comics are you reading now?

I'm now nearly caught up on the last 4 months'-worth of Valiant, and that's been a fun experience, powering through all that stuff at once :D Shadowman isn't epic, but is at that same level of enjoyable that it was when it first came out, as I think the overall plot is pretty similar so far. XO Man...

VH1 - Eternal Warrior / A&A #8 Flipbook Any from Joshua's Dysart Harbinger second arc, just before Wars. The Torque one, damn, so hard on the feels. But all of them are exquisite. EDIT - And Bleeding Monk #0, OF *SQUEE* COURSE! -Eternal Warrior #1 (VH1): This issue was more of an origin of Gila...

I remember picking up The Maxx when it first came out and being pretty enthralled as it was unlike anything I had read up to that point. It definitely stood apart from the other Image books of that time.

It's one I've been meaning to go back to for awhile now. Thanks for bringing it up!

But what I really want to know is what is a "Vegan Warrior".

Re: Complaining About Quantum & Woody

I think Q&W were the best thing from the Acclaim era but I don't think VEI has been able to replicate the humor and other components that made the original Q&W so good. Have you read the old still latly does it hold up to the test of time and your grown up maturity? One thing I find with st...

Re: When will Dynamit(e)'s Gold Key license expire?

The introduction of the Red Brigade into the Valiant Universe is an example of how the current storytelling model could introduce (and keep) any character. The Fall of Harbinger gives a multiverse where "other Valiant universes" could be equally valid, with other characters, as needed. :h...

I chose ice cream. I'll have to wait to see what they do and who the creative teams are. I'm more likely to follow creators than characters no matter how much I love a character.
