So I only had a few hours and some limited funds to spend this time around. But here's the run down:

Valiant had their booth in almost the same spot as last year, so they were easy to locate:

I was hoping to see the usual suspects there, but Dinesh and crew didn't make it into town. Although I met Andy, the new Marketing guy. (Seems Elveen didn't make it either. Tucson Comicon was in the spot my Programming Guide said he'd be in.)

From there, I slid down Artist Alley and got Dave Baron to sign my A&A #0. Then went to the Hero Initiative booth to talk to some friends. After that I just kind of wandered until the panel started. (Andy gave me the Panel announcement sign later in the day. Rare VEI souvenir, I guess.)

Image

The format was different this year then in the past. Only Dave Baron and Andy were at the table. It was called Valiant 101, and was laser focused on introducing VEI and their Universe to new fans, of which I would say there were 20 or so. All in all it was pretty fun. And, of course, we got these.

Dave Baron with Archer and Armstrong:

After that, DB was doing free sketches for anyone who lined up at the VEI booth. Which I did obviously. Dave is another one of the Valiant crew that is always super cool. I got to hang out with him a little when I worked to booth last year. So there was this:

I met a few Board members, had a great time and went to see Andy Runton before I left for the day. He has a new short Owly story in XO #39 and he let me "read" his original art for the whole thing. I love that guy. He's cool to talk to, genuinely very nice and I always buy something from him.

So that was my day....
I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.

Thanks for sharing. What's that thick X-O book? The compendium that's been mentioned on occasion? I've never seen it.

He loved it. He's going back today to pick up some more TPB's. He joined the board right after too!

Thanks for sharing. :thumb: I really wish whatever the issue is, with Valiant and HeroesCon, that they would put their ego's aside, for the fans.
