Here's the question, which is cooler, the CEAR or Unity Red? You make the call...

I'm still curious about that letter that came with the CEAR. There seems to have been more activities connected to the CEAR. And though it's a slight difference, I feel that the Chaos cover gets more highlighted by the red, than does Unity. So, despite Unity being the cooler story, I vote CEAR.

CEAR is tougher to get, harder to find in high grade, & a really cool Jurgens cover.

Unity red has a really cool BWS cover, more memories associated with it, & a much better story.

The red equally sets each book apart in my opinion.

I'd give the slight edge to Unity 0 red if it weren't so easy to get in high grade. Otherwise, I have to give the nod to CEAR. ~Pete

Killer story overall, plus (to combine a bunch of others' thoughts) there are pterodactyls drawn by Barry Windsor-Smith on the cover! With or without the red, Unity #0 is the cooler cover AND book. The red just makes it even cooler.

:D

Just for fairness, here's a pic of the CEAR:

Now everyone who might has never seen these before can draw their own conclusions. And yes, I did vote for Unity Red.

Definitely the Unity Red. The only reason the CEAR even garners any attention at all is because of the rarity.

Unity Red..........as slym said its BWS!!! Plus a superior story and for me art also. CEAR may be rarer but this is a case of quality way over quantity.

Not a variant fan anyway. If offered a free CGC 9.8 copy of either Magnus #0, Unity Red or a CEAR, I would pick the Magnus #0 every time.

I'd take a CEAR or Unity Red, but not a Magnus.

I'm up for that trade. LMK when you get a copy of Unity Red 9.8 and I'll swap with you for a Magnus 0.

How does one measure coolness? Are we judging the book by it's cover? It's rarity? It's content?
19) VALIANT WILL RETURN.
It'll be a celebration of complete chaos and destruction.
It'll be a glorious time of weeping. The earth will shift on its axis.

Have to go Unity Red. You know how we measure time as before Christ and after(bc - ad). Well ...it's the Messiah of the Valiant universe. :D

I think coolness is always a subjective thing. What might be cool to me might be geeky to you. I find Unity Red cooler because the content, the cover, and the nostalgia factor. I remember when I was originally a VALIANT fan seeing a Unity Red in my local comic shop's display case and wishing oh so badly I could have it, knowing I would never shell out the $100 for it. As for the CEAR, I had no idea it even existed until I found this site and re-started my VALIANT collecting. The only reason I even wanted it was because I needed it for my 100% complete VALIANT set.
