Chris,
If you read this month's editorial, you'll know by now there's NOTHING I can say regarding my contributions to the new Valiant publishers. However, I'm looking forward to seeing what they did with the Harbinger TPB. I think it's fair to say that we need to wait and see what kind of sales they get back on it before we jump the gun and start writing letters to them on what we want to see next. I've had several talks with them and they seem to be taking a conservative and sensible approach to reintroducing the material. To be honest with you Chris, the name X-O Manowar has come up in conversations a few times, in association with me. But outside of that, nothing's been officially discussed.
I have told them that if they ever decide to revive that character, I would be more than willing to contribute in "some" fashion on a project or two.
Interesting...And don’t get me started about the new owners of Valiant Entertainment!
I’ve already done two big assignments for them and…*sigh*…you guessed it—sworn to secrecy!
Now you know why I want to scream.

Since the first quote is actually referencing the second, you should read them the other way around...
(sorry to sound picky... but when I read the other order, it sounded like VEI had NOTHING to do with Layton...)

In other words, there's NOTHING he can say about what he's already done.Chris,

All that's missing is BWS...
And having BWS on board would be beyond sweet.
19) VALIANT WILL RETURN.
It'll be a celebration of complete chaos and destruction.
It'll be a glorious time of weeping. The earth will shift on its axis.

Or is it that BWS doesn't care for VALIANT?
What's he doing nowadays anyway?

He's been working on a graphic novel called Monster for years, haven't heard much about it lately though. He was going to do a Thing GN for Marvel a while back, but I think that got cancelled when he couldn't agree with Joe Q on formatting (big surprise). About a year ago his Freebooters collection came out, good stuff.ManofTheAtom wrote: What's he doing nowadays anyway?

well iirc, he wasn't real happy with the valiant happenings to begin with and then J lied to him about the Solar VcVSS so he might be kinda bitter yet...ManofTheAtom wrote:Didn't Shooter say that BWS was the only one who apologized to him?myron wrote:REALLY can't envision that happening...The Mighty Drew wrote:Hard to get any hopes up as of yet. Lapham didn't do any work for Broadway, by that time he was already self-publishing Stray Bullets. He was with Defiant till the end, so I wouldn't think he has any bad blood with Jim, but I really have no idea.myron wrote:he followed Big Jim to Defiant ... anyone know if he helped on Broadway also?

I really enjoyed DD and Plasm stories as well. Both books had some great artwork and coloring too.Jay Tomio wrote:I loved Defiant, and was crossing my fingers and him J-Shoot were still cordial, but I was wondering if perhaps there was any reason VALIANT itself left a bad taste in his mouth.myron wrote:he followed Big Jim to Defiant ... anyone know if he helped on Broadway also? afaik there wasn't any fallout...but some others have already said that he is quite busy at the moment...Jay Tomio wrote:Did D-Lap part ways with no negative stigma attached?
I'd love to see Lapham back on Valiant.
Defiant kicked *SQUEE* - Dark Dominion was one of the best books out IMHO - and I have Warriors of Plasm actually reads better now than it did then.
