Pleasantly surprised. Although one wonders if the primary impetus to actually publish something is coming from the new investors and Chairman?

Still, you have to ask why has it taken them so long? It will be more than 2 years from the Shooter situation blew up come 2012, and if they had wanted to and/or ensured the neccessary means to do so they could have published by now.

So a qualified welcome to this news. But until VEI actually publish something I will remain cautious.

I'm pretty optimistic here, though creative teams could have a lot to do with how excited I am about the titles. But just the characters coming back has got me ready to reserve the first issues!

Great news to see that someone else is backing them and will therefore want results from their input.

There are some interesting quotes there too:
“Cutting-edge characters and stories were the core tenants of the original Valiant and are the core tenants of the new Valiant.”

and

"We are keenly focused on bringing the original Valiant Universe back for these fans as well as introducing these powerful characters and stories to new readers.”

Makes me wonder how they plan to reintroduce the original VU whilst remaining cutting edge.

This one is even more interesting!

Seems they are claiming they never meant to put out a new line until they recieved more financial backing and all of the previous releases/movie stuff was just to build a portfolio to attract investors.

Very limited on actual details about plans though. I'd guess its going to be pretty far into 2012 before we see anything.

Pinch me, I must be dreaming—the DCU may be going down the toilet while Valiant is about to rise from the ashes. :o
