Top 10 Relaunch things you DON'T want...

xodacia81 wrote:Ok, gang. A discussion I had made me think of this. What to your mind are the top ten characters/concepts you see as a must for VEI to launch with? Not right out of the gate, mind you, but ten things you want to see, or characters/concepts, within the first 6-12 months?
Playing off xodacia81's great thread (many great ideas in there BTW), I thought that I would take it in the other direction.

Alligators or anything corny of the like.

Don't waste time on releasing a book that wont sell such as Armorines and Psylords. Use them in the universe of course, maybe even give em a mini and of course crossover events but no ongoing lines for anything not verry neccessary. I think Dr. Mirage is as far as I'd go, even then maybe only mini's.

AGREED! Including that stupid-looking bozo-haired Shadowman wannabe from the future.

If I'm singing the praises of Valiant, I don't need to be put in a situation where
I have to say "Sorry about that, you're right, that's stupid."

I remember back in the day reading the solicitation for upcoming issues of Shadowman and thinking, "Man, that sounds lame." Then I'd read the book, and it was really good. That always impressed me about Bob Hall. It didn't matter how lame the concept seemed - like a bozo-haired Shadowman wannabe from the future - Bob Hall made it work and told a great story.

I can sort of agree with this, but just look at that cover and imagine having
to tell someone who doesn't know about Valiant that it's actually kinda good.

Awkward!

Bob Hall deserved better.
