Most rewarding Valiant Issue Hunt?
I'm still getting caught up on things Valiant related since Chaos Effect so I'm out of the loop a bit, but I was wondering which issues have been the most fun and/or painful for you to track down?

Don't forget the Valiant Heroes and the GBU. I would put both of them above Armorines #4. And SH vol. 3 #6 needs some mention also.iggy101us wrote:Agree about the HTF Acclaims. I would like to distinguish between rarely seen for sale and rarely seen for sale at decent prices.
Some are always seemingly available but at such high prices that I can't justify buying them.
Now granted, the only outlets I have available for purchasing comics are online, so that may skew my impressions.
That being said, and to answer the OP, any time I find a good deal on an issue or issues I need it's rewarding.

My most satisfying find ever was Solar #2.
Back when I was 13 or so, and super in to Valiant, I liked Solar best, and right around when Unity started, before prices went through the roof, I bought all the back issues of Solar from the comic shop. I was able to get them all for between $4 and $8, so this was really before things blew up.
Except they didn’t have issue #2.
I had the whole run of books, except issue 2.
Finally, my friends dad took us to a comic convention somewhere down in L.A. I couldn’t afford the Harby 1s for $80, or the A&A and Eternal Warrior golds for $125 (though I did have an A&A gold already), but I did finally find a Solar #2.
Paid $20 for it, which at the time was the most I had ever paid for a comic, by far.
I’ve found some other cool stuff since then, Turok EB Games in a dollar bin, Rai 21 VVSS in a 50-cent bin, etc., but I have never been as excited about any of those as I was about finally getting a copy of Solar #2.

Those are awesome. I haven't had that much luck with pulling HTF Valiants from bins. The best bin pulls I've had so far were Bloodshot #30 and #32 newsstand price variants.Elveen wrote:Maybe the best Valiant related comic finding moments I had was pull out 2 Bernard Chang signed CEARS out of a bin. there was one, and right behind it was another.
I also pulled a SM GLOW out of a box and paid $4 for it.

VERY nice finds. The thing that I sorta hate about the price variants and newsstand books in that now I have to check out so many other books when I am looking through bins.iggy101us wrote:Those are awesome. Since the majority of my collection has been purchased from the wonderful folks on this website (and many also give to me...thank you so much, gents!), my greatest personal find was a copy of Acclaim "Shadowman Vol. 3 #1 No Price Variant" for $0.50 at an LCS a year or so ago.
While I was not looking for it, I bought it intending to give it away to someone on this site, which I ended up doing That also made it feel so much more special!!! (though I don't recall who I gave it to now?)

What a great thread idea
One of most rewarding issue hunt was when I stumbled across the Magnus, Rai, and Solar tpbs. I had none of the earlier Valiants, neither would I ever at the time the tpbs came out because of their costs (something I could remedy later thankfully). I loved reading those stories; I was so jazzed just to read them.
I guess my rewarding hunt came by accident having given up on the hunt.

My story is similar to Doc Solar's although mine was Solar #4. I could not find that book anywhere. At the time I was trying to get everything up till Chaos Effect only and it was the last book I needed. Searching for it on E-bay is what lead me to this site!
