You mean a shepherd's crook? :)

That's definitely Shadowman's sickle. Wonder what the price point will be on these and their expected availability. Lots of cool new merchandise lately. :thumb:

Considering the source is the former master designer for ToyBiz and Hasbro, David Vonner, who is teasing them with #comingsoon and #newuniverse, I think they're legit.

The only thing I'm not sure of is what company he is currently working for or if he is freelancing. According to everything I read about him, he was supposed to be moving to Jazzwares after he left Hasbro, but that fell apart.

It's possible VEIs Marvel connections brought him in to design the toys, which will then be produced by the licensing company. Or even that the designs are to entice a company into licensing, though I hope it's the former.

Whoever is doing this might be making a very, very good move if these are basically to scale with the modern GI Joe lines. Seriously. I don't see this as a product offering entering with any valued market penetration if they are angled to other superhero lines, regardless of how obvious that may seem.

Instead, coming into a market with a product that's complimentary to something scaled and articulated like GI Joe, which would make these very appealing well beyond the threshold of Valiant collectors. If these stick and take off, then move into a Legends style line that will sit on pegs next to Marvel Legends.

Who's Bloodshot and Rai going to be more appealing to? Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow fans and displays, or Captain America and Iron Man next to Batman and Superman? Think about it...

IMJ's free, open-market money making tip for the day.

But if these were to be sold mass market (like Toys R Us, Walmart whatever) Valiant would be basicly marketing their books to little kids as they would get the figure then seek out the comics.

What would happen when "Mom" then saw Zrshh, Spluch, Flamingo 3 way, Kris and Pete's first date, etc. etc. ?

Can't see this being a mass market item it would create a lot of problems for VEI.

I think it will be a Diamond thing for LCSs.

You leave some board sections unread?!? Poor form. That must be why you didn't join in the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki debate in the Things We Don't Discuss Forum.

I've sworn off that section. Too much acrimony. Comics is supposed to be fun, I don't need flame wars and bad blood with people I'd otherwise be friends with. 8-)

Comics? Is this supposed to be a comics forum? You know there's a girl here, right? I'm pretty sure that definitely proves it's not a comics forum. :kidaround:

I initially read only the Valiant discussion threads, then branched out to other comics, and so on. I discovered the "view new posts" page on the site and use Tapatalk on my phone which can show all unread messages in chronologic order. As such, I have a compulsion to read every single post on this board. It's a sickness. It is very fun here, though, and I'm glad I branched out. Otherwise, I would not be reading The Manhattan Projects, or know that the Avengers I'm reading is relaunching the New Universe (or even that the New Universe existed at all), or know who Jonathan Hickman is (who happens to be my current favorite writer).

From my perspective, there's a lot of girls here  Ah, just kidding. I never noticed the "view new posts" page. That will make things quicker when I'm sneaking peeks at work. :)

Can we bend them into crude positions and do inappropriate things with their weapons and accessories? :kidaround:

Not really a shepherd's crook, but that pole with a lasso type thing on it. Kinda like what they use to control the zombies on the walking dead.

But, now that you mention it, it does look like a sickle.

Are you starting with unofficial, but still Valiant things, like penguins? :hm:

There is the "official" (but unproduced) X-O statue prototype from 1993.

I don't own any valiant statues or penguin projects. If someone has a complete collection, and they are willing to mail them to me, then I'll be happy to document the on 3DValiant.com!

I would of course promptly return them. Otherwise, I'll probably just wait for the official VEI toys to come out.

Very excited to build the site though! I've had a blast building 3DJoes.com

Haven't been posting much. Been trying to keep up with the bigger news and threads but pretty much went from spending hours a day reading here to being so busy I only get to check it aa few times a week. I think i even went almost a month without logging in too. :?

Hard to catch up now especially with not having read anything in 5 months. facepalm
