Lee Garbett's new project
So, many of you probably know that Lee Garbett is unfortunately done with Valiant (hopefully just for the time being). His Linked In page says he is now the artist for Loki: Agent of Asgard for Marvel.
I know people on the boards loved his work, so thought you might want to know where he is now and what he's up to. Would've preferred Ninjak, but what can you do?

Re: Lee Garbett's new project
Yeah, Lee's work for Valiant has been top class, hopefully he'll be back at some point. I swapped tweets with him when it was announced he was moving on, I think he was looking for a permanent book to work on but at this moment in time VEI were unable to do this so the Marvel gig came up. Shame, but I think he'll be back and hopefully on a permanent book.

Nrama: You’re coming to Loki: Agent of Asgardafter recently doing a healthy stint at Valiant on X-O Manowar, Harbinger and others.
What’s it like coming back to the Marvel U and doing it in such a big way?
Garbett: It's a dream realized, really. I'd originally joined Valiant to launch a title there but that ended up in limbo due to the writer pulling out.
They were great to work with and kept me busy on some superb stuff. I'm especially proud of my time on X-O Manowar - but I always felt it was
Cary Nord's book and was still on the lookout for a title to call my own.

Wonder what title that was? And what writer? Maybe that was the reason for Rai being delayed?sonicdan wrote:

Re: Lee Garbett's new project
I'm guessing it was more likely Ninjak. Garbett pencilled the Enter Ninjak arc on X-O.lorddunlow wrote:Wonder what title that was? And what writer? Maybe that was the reason for Rai being delayed?sonicdan wrote:

Re: Lee Garbett's new project
It would be interesting to find out what that would have been. Maybe they decided to just do Unity instead of a seperate Ninjak book for now?

Re: Lee Garbett's new project
Lee's current project, Loki: Agent of Asgard #1, is currently out. Marvel announced it's going to a second print but my LCS still had plenty of copies. Anyway, I really enjoyed it! Entertaining, humorous, well paced and a great hook at the end to get me to come back for issue #2.

Re: Lee Garbett's new project
I actually wonder if it was the original Eternal Warrior series that seemed to be teased in FCBD 2012. That would seem to fit his style. I doubt VEI would have launched a Ninjak book that early on.lorddunlow wrote:That makes sense. I bet you're right.jeremycoe wrote:I'm guessing it was more likely Ninjak. Re: Lee Garbett's new project
I had heard that he was supposed to take over Q&W, but backed out in favor of "launching his own #1". Hence, Ming Doyle last minute replacement.
