free Valiant promo card
I attended Heroes Con this past weekend.
They had the first ever VALIANT promo card for their upcoming card set.
I bet 'CP1' stands for 'Convention Promo 1.'
They must be rare because the only other one I see on eBAY is:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VALIANT-COMICS- ... 7675.l2557
TWO way to win one:
Post on this message board: http://www.nonsportscardforum.com/showt ... post105633" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or follow me on twitter @sketchcards -- and retweet my contest post.

Wow! I bid $1 on that one, as I already have one. I didn't expect it to go for that much!

Crap...I hung around the Valiant booth for three days and didn't pick one of these up...
Also kicking myself for not buying a Bloodshot water bottle for $50, so I could flip it to one of you guys for 10x that once they're all sold out.

Yeah, Dino told me $25 and then Atom! said that since there were only 5-6 left he'd have to charge me $50.

Sounds messed up to me. You cant tell someone one price and then double it. That is not good business practices. I really want one of those water bottles but 25$ is the limit. They are already making a great profit on them I bet, to go to 50$ is just over kill.hawkeyeps wrote:Holy *SQUEE*Tim wrote:Yeah, Dino told me $25 and then Atom! said that since there were only 5-6 left he'd have to charge me $50.

Well, Dino told me $25 and Atom! corrected him instantly, so it's not like I was already reaching for my wallet or anything. I don't think there's anything shady or sleazy about the incident. I definitely didn't see it that way.ValiantReader wrote:Sounds messed up to me. You cant tell someone one price and then double it. That is not good business practices. Re: free Valiant promo card
Well i wasn't there so I can just speak from my experience in sales. They can charge whatever they like for a product but if lets say 20 people bought a water bottle for 25$ that day and then I get there and they want 50$ well I be *SQUEE*. Did you try and negotiate a little?Tim wrote:Well, Dino told me $25 and Atom! corrected him instantly, so it's not like I was already reaching for my wallet or anything. I really just think it was a case of Dino not being clear on the price of these things. Nothing more.

Re: free Valiant promo card
Well, it's one thing to simply tell someone the wrong price by accident and get corrected on it, that's pretty innocent. But Atom saying that "now there are only 5/6 left..." and upping the price on the spot is a bit of a disgrace reallyTim wrote:...Dino told me $25 and then Atom! said that since there were only 5-6 left he'd have to charge me $50.
I can only assume that nothing on the stand actually had a price label on it, which entitles them to literally charge what they want for any product as and when they wish purely on whim, so there's nothing anyone can do about that apart from simply not buy their products.
However, if I was there I would've told them that I think raising the price on a product simply because there are only a few left is simply taking advantage of the very people who're basically paying their wages for them, and to do it so blatently in front of a customer is downright insulting.
Nobody wants their wallet raped for a quick buck and I sincerely hope Dinesh had a word with him afterwards.

I grabbed 2 cards on Friday (1 for me and one for a board member). But I think they were gone on Saturday. They look great. Although mine got a tad beaten on the edges in my suitcase
