Definitely better to be patient and hold off.

This book will not be shadowman black part 2

Hold your cash for now my friends
Agreed! You will be able to pick a copy up in 3-4 months for $50. I will definitely pick one up down the road.

I went to four different comic shops today and only one had an issue of Unity Red. I offered him $50 and he laughed. He said it wasn't for sale yet as the value is yet to be determined. Apparently it was mailed to random shops that support Valiant. I can easily see this being an $80 book. I did look through the book though, and its basically the Unity #1 artwork without the word ballons. Nice piece.

Every store in the US will be getting one.
Don't pay big bucks for one.

Ummm, just saw 2 shadowman #1 black variant for $1.99 on ebay....? Am I looking at the right thing? Or have they really just decreased in value that much?

The one with the slipcase. Dino handed mine to me himself, then signed it! :cloud9:

That would be the pullbox cover for Shadowman #1. Shadowman Black was a preview book that was distributed (in very small quantities) to the biggest VEI supporting retailers. They are very hard to come by.

Shadowman black (preview book with the slip case) is The hardest to find/rarest distributed VEI book. There is less than 500 of these.
Every shop in the United States is going to get a unity red.

Smart move by your retailer, it's great that he has rewarded his best Valiant customer rather than making a quick buck. Loyalty should be valued in business. :thumb:

I think VEI are making a really bold move with their marketing of Unity and I hope it pays off for them. :hope:

That was a very decent thing for them to do, good on them. :thumb:

My LCS didn't get it, but then again it may come at a later date. That sometimes happens over here, but usually it is very rare for me to see a 1:50 variant or something like this Unity Red come through. I realise that they don't order massive amounts of each title, but I think part of the problem may be Diamond's international shipping process as well.
Luckily I have come into contact with some very helpful board members to help me out so far.

The preview for this from Bleeding Cool was far too tempting too resist. I can't wait to read this arc. :)

These books are already on ebay for 99 to 199 dollars. I'm surprised people are actually bidding on them. While I want one I won't pay 100 dollars for a book that I don't know the rarity or the condition.

I just stopped by my LCS to pickup my pull list. I asked about Unity Red and if they'd received a copy. The owner hasn't received his copy but he is aware of it and expects a copy. I let him know I was interested and we agreed on a price well below the current eBay prices. Hopefully he gets one soonish :hope:

I just called about 7 stores in my area. None of them have it and most haven't even heard of it or know what it is.
Bummer.
The only shop that DID have one, was one of Ed's shops. But that they weren't allowed to sell it til at least Unity #1 came out.
:?

My LCS had just gotten his today. He wanted $92.50. I had it on me so the book came home with me.

I bet most dealers weren't offering their Unity 0 Reds back in the day either (because they saw it as the holy grail), and that book came down. 95% of all modern variants take a quick nose dive after the first month or so....it's like buying a car, turn the key and the value plummets.
