Re: Book of the Month - February 2014
This was really tough. I went with HARD Corps #0 and Unity #4. Right behind those would be Archer #0, Harby #21 and Shadowman #15. Third tier was Eternal Warrior #6, Quantum & Woody #8 and Bloodshot & HARD Corps #19. XO #22 would be last, but I still really enjoyed that. Very good month overall.
To summarize:
1. HARD Corps #0
2. Unity #4
3. Archer #0
4. Harby #21
5. Shadowman #15
6. Bloodshot & HARD Corps #19
7. Eternal Warrior #6
8. Quantum & Woody #8
9. XO #22
To summarize:
1. HARD Corps #0
2. Unity #4
3. Archer #0
4. Harby #21
5. Shadowman #15
6. Bloodshot & HARD Corps #19
7. Eternal Warrior #6
8. Quantum & Woody #8
9. XO #22

Re: Book of the Month - February 2014
I voted for A&A #0, and EW #6.
Tough call though between those and Unity #4, and both Bloodshot and HC titles.
X-O 22, and Harby 21 are 2nd tier, and then
Quantum & Woody 8 (good story, pretty unforgivable art)
Shadowman #15 (I'm still not digging it)

Re: Book of the Month - February 2014
This was definitely a tough month. Every title had it's strong points. Even my last place was an enjoyable read.
My summary below. I opted for Archer #0 and H.A.R.D. Corps #0, as they rose above very strong competition to continue the amazing #0 issues trend. Unity easily fell into 3rd place, and the middile tier of Harby, B&HC, and SM are pretty much interchangeable. Sorta the same for the lower tier... Quantum and Woody taking last place, despite the stronger story this issue, due to the artwork.
1. Archer #0
2. HARD Corps #0
3. Unity #4
4. Harby #21
5. Bloodshot & HARD Corps #19
6. Shadowman #15
7. Eternal Warrior #6
8. XO #22
9. Quantum & Woody #8

Eternal Warrior #6 was tops for me, BS&HC #0 was a close second.

Re: Book of the Month - February 2014
Finally caught up with my reading for the month, and what a pleasure it was. I really enjoyed Shadowman and Harbinger this month, but Unity and Eternal Warrior just blew me away. I enjoyed the zero issues but perhaps more as a fill in of information, but in no way saying they were not good.
1. Unity #4
2. Eternal Warrior #6
3. Shadowman #15
4. X-O Manowar #22
5. Harbinger #21 Is it just me or does @X remind anyone else of Arty Ziff from The Simpsons.
6. Archer #0
7. Hard Corps #0
8. Bloodshot & Hard Corps #19
9. Quantum & Woody #8
1. Unity #4
2. Eternal Warrior #6
3. Shadowman #15
4. X-O Manowar #22
5. Harbinger #21 Is it just me or does @X remind anyone else of Arty Ziff from The Simpsons.
6. Archer #0
7. Hard Corps #0
8. Bloodshot & Hard Corps #19
9. Quantum & Woody #8

Re: Book of the Month - February 2014
I voted for the BS&HC issues, 19 was a step up from 18 and the Vagabond scene was one of the best of the month IMO. I also liked how the zero issue worked with 19 and echoed story points making both issues seem richer.
1. BS&HC #0
2. BS&HC #19
3. Archer #0
4. Harbinger #21
5. Unity #4
6. Eternal Warrior #6
7. Shadowman #15
8. XO #22
All these issues were very good or great, this one sucked-

My full rankings for February:
#1 - Archer & Armstrong: Archer #0

#5 - X-O Manowar #22
#6 - Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #19
#7 - Eternal Warrior #6
#8 - Shadowman #15

5- QUANTUM & WOODY #08
4- SHADOWMAN #15
3- X-O MANOWAR #22
ARCHER & ARMSTRONG: ARCHER #0
ETERNAL WARRIOR #06
HARBINGER #21
BLOODSHOT & H.A.R.D. Corps: H.A.R.D. Corps #0
2- BLOODSHOT & H.A.R.D. Corps #19
1- UNITY #04
All very good reads, with the exception of number 5, which still, was enjoyable, i.e. better than previous months. Shadowman would be higher, but nothing happened of importance, felt a bit like a filler, but not BAD, by any means, imho.
X-O / SUPERMAN :O. Now, the cover for 23 makes so much more sense.
ETERNAL WARRIOR was also a very fast read, and for the first time, I'm really not sure about the direction of the story. I re-read it, and it's a great comic, but I'm not seeing what is the focus, right now (taking into account the first arc and that all). The Robot fight was very cool in visuals.
The 0 issues were very good, but inferior to previous zeros, still I enjoyed both a lot.
The second place, B&HC19 had some GREAT character stuff by Granite and Vagabond (poor nuke-dude ) and it was the best issue of this incarnation so far. I like Sears' Bloodshot a lot. Great comic.
Now, ONE.
Livewire.
That's why, mostly. But overall, this book was filled with great individual moments and the dialogue between Aric and Amanda was awesome, awesome sauce. *SQUEE* Harada!
Seeing them working as a team was very cool, but it was obvious that not everything was planned (Gilad almost shooting himself?). They have to hone their team work- or they'll just end up fighting each other? Love this book, it is now my 3rd vei solid read, after Harby and X-O.

It was my favourite issue with the Corps in BS, they deserve their book next year (sooner, I hope) because we've now seen too much awesomeness for not to.hawkeyeps wrote:Shakes comes through for the Corps
And with sympathetic characters that we get to know for at least 5 issues , it is a GREAT concept.

They really had some great moments in them - I was really blown away by that whole thing between Vagabond & Chernobyl, and the 70's era storyline in the zero issue (no spoilers here!).
