Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
Could this be a sign of an expansion of titles? Or somebody in Valiant already moving on or being promoted?

Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
Hopefully it means expansion. Maybe we could see 12-14 titles a month in 2015.
Here's the person in question .. and the quote from the article

And I’m also told that assistant editor Kyle Andrukiewicz, of Futures End, Animal Man and Justice League 3000, will take on an editorship at Valiant.

Hopefully this will mean fewer sloppy art errors in the books?

Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
I would look gladly on more editorial control to minimize errors or for an eventual expansion of a few more titles next year (since they've pretty clearly stated they're staying at 9 titles for the rest of this year at least).

Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
I said it when this was first announced and I will say it again, valiant has an opportunity to pick up a lot of talented people to work for them. With DC being gone Marvel cannot handle all the people that will now be available. It's just like in sports when one team folds and the league contracts you end up with a higher quality of people around you and for young company like valiant who maybe didn't need it they now have this dropped in their lap and can be very choosy in adding to their company. Big windfall for Valiant.

Good news, I hope this is an addition to the VEI team and not a result of losing Josh or Alejandro... I'm all for a title or two more than 9 per month

Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
I hope it does herald some kind of expansion of the line. Self-limiting to 9 appears self-defeating IMHO.bygranddesign wrote:Hopefully it means expansion. Maybe we could see 12-14 titles a month in 2015.

Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
I think the 9 titles deal is only temporary. The big push of VALIANT Firsts this summer is meant to bring in more readers so VEI can then expand the line. If they added more books right now, it could overwhelm readers. I would bet by this time next year we will be seeing 12 titles monthly from VEI.leonmallett wrote:I hope it does herald some kind of expansion of the line. Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
I'm 95% certain that this hire is because there will be an increase in the number of titles.

Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
I'm torn on expansion. the most appealing thing to me about Valiant is that I can follow the whole universe, which I never could have done with Marvel or DC. but while I like that VEI limits the number of books to a manageable level, I also hate that this means not having an Eternal Warrior or Shadowman series.
Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
I love VEI for the same reason. But I think I could handle another couple books a month. I'll just have to do some spring cleaning on my pull list.mateo107 wrote:I'm torn on expansion. the most appealing thing to me about Valiant is that I can follow the whole universe, which I never could have done with Marvel or DC. but while I like that VEI limits the number of books to a manageable level, I also hate that this means not having an Eternal Warrior or Shadowman series.

Re: Former DC Editor heads to VALIANT
here's to expanding the line, I just love what they are doing and I could easily move things on my pull list for more valiant 12-15 books a month sounds great (ongoing & mini series)
