Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
Greg - I so appreciate what you've done to rebuild the site. However, I so miss the Checklist tool and the old Price Guide format. It's how I track my collection and with all the new promo/con/addl print books, etc., I can't keep track!
Many thanks again for all your work!

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
+1 I also miss the section that allowed us to click on a title and see every issue that was released including all the variants. I print these out and carry them in my "Valiant Bible," which has every book ever released by Valiant and the current guide price. That way when I am out visiting stores or Cons, I always know if I have the right book in my hands and if I am paying a fair price.nycjadie wrote:Greg - I so appreciate what you've done to rebuild the site. Is this on the new site and I just haven't stumbled upon it yet? Any way to bring this feature to the new site?
Thanks for all you do, Greg!

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
I miss having the complete list where one could check all values with a single click as well.
Greg, is there anything we can do to help expedite getting that back?

I've got to jump on this as well. nycjadie hit the nail on the head; I can't tell you how many times I've used that feature over the years.mkb28 wrote:+1 I also miss the section that allowed us to click on a title and see every issue that was released including all the variants. Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
The price guide exists (not sure if it can be considered "current"): http://www.valiantfan.com/guide" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
To look for any word in a book (title word, artist, etc.), there isn't a super-easy way right now, but you can use:
http://www.valiantfan.com/quickview/show/Archer" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Just change the last word to what you're looking for...
Examples:
http://www.valiantfan.com/quickview/show/Unity" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.valiantfan.com/quickview/show/Braithwaite" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.valiantfan.com/quickview/show/Platinum" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
Thanks, Greg. That search feature is helpful. Since I have all the VH1 and VH2 books printed out, I just need to keep updated on the VEI releases, so I can print out each title with your search tool and go from there. Too bad the price isn't listed on that page, but this is a step in the right direction.greg wrote:The price guide exists (not sure if it can be considered "current"): http://www.valiantfan.com/guide" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If I just had a smartphone with me, this search feature would be all I need. I carry a company issued Blackberry that we really can't use beyond work related stuff.
Thanks again for the helpful information.

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
Lets just say the price guide IS current, and since all the common books are $2 and not $1, our collection values have sky-rocketed!!!greg wrote:The price guide exists (not sure if it can be considered "current"): http://www.valiantfan.com/guide

Also, while I do miss the old check list and point values, I'm also glad it's gone. Now I don't have to work to get that 100% collection.
Thanks for the tip on the quick search
Where are we going and why am I in this hand-basket?

Good to know! When I click on the "Main Website" or "Price Guide" links at the top left, they both send me to the same page (but with a slightly different URL):greg wrote:The price guide exists (not sure if it can be considered "current"): http://www.valiantfan.com/guide" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Any chance of fixing the link on that second one so it goes to the actual guide?

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
What checklist are we talking about?
The checklist for Valiant 1991-1996 was just an Excel file (or PDF) that was about 15 years old.
Was there something for current Valiant that you guys are calling a checklist?
Or, are you all talking about the inventory system?

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
I used to use the Excel file Checklist for both VH1 and VH2 and I would highlight the books that I needed for my collection in yellow. I could see at a quick glance exactly which books I needed to complete my collection. Plus, it was cool taking the yellow shading off when I found one that I needed. The ultimate though was when the sheet was completely unshaded and just black and white.greg wrote:What checklist are we talking about?

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
It would be nice to have a checklist for the new Valiant. It's hard for me to keep up with all the variants. This is particularly true for the con variants and comic shop exclusive variants.greg wrote:What checklist are we talking about?

Re: Checklist and Old Price Guide Format?
Thanks, Greg. I liked both the Excel checklist and the Inventory Management. I liked the inventory management tool more. It was super helpful and I could access it on my mobile.
As it stands, I can't track what's been released in the last 5 months or so. For example, the store variants for Rai 1, the con exclusives, the ridiculous number of store exclusives for FCBD, the cover variants for Armor Hunters story line, 2nd and 3rd prints, etc. I know a lot of these aren't in the price guide yet.
Of course, I'd be down for any of these tools. Much appreciated!
