What is VEI's definition of a 'prestige' series?
I like VEI's output on the whole (one title as a notable exception!), but they do stuff and say stuff in press releases that occasionally makes me scratch my head.
So the thing I am wondering about, what is it about Shadowman: End Times that made it a prestige series? Prestige has often been used in the comics industry in the past 30 years to describe a book published in a better-than-usual format, and often in my recollection a 48/64 page perfect bound book, frequently with a heavier cover stock than most monthlies.
Am I missing something?

Good point, Leon - I think the same as you regarding what constitutes a 'Prestige' format. I forgot that the Shadowman mini was classified as a prestige series... but I think it was a higher page count per issue at least.
I'm thinking it was 24-28 pages per issue but don't have any issues handy to check that.

I like to draw stuff... http://grendeljd.deviantart.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My wife likes to draw stuff too, and she is better than me! [I'm very proud of her]... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sara-Dec ... ref=stream" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would assume you could replace the word "prestige" with "we really want you to buy this book so we're going to throw some words in front of it that you like."

- Especially "dude." And "balls." Those terms work in the tech industry.

I do think that "prestige" has an industry meaning that is different from how Valiant is using it.

the main Deathmate books were prestige format, so was Bloodshot:Last Stand. Saying Shadowman:End Times was prestige is far from industry standard on what a "prestige" book really is.
