Idea to help Valiant grow

So far I have been able to turn a couple of readers to Valiant at my LCS and at work. I am thinking about getting some business cards printed up and have the owner of my LCS put them out. I would hate for someone to be looking at a Valiant book and not willing to try it because no one is there to answer their questions. Plus if I am at a con and meet someone local, I can give my contact info to them vs. my work business card which is so boring

I wanted to get some feedback before I went to the printers about the idea in general and thoughts on design. The tools to design these are pretty good but not the best. I am not a graphical designer by trade so this is the best I can do.

When I'm thinking about doing something like this I always ask the question, "what would I do if someone handed me this?"

your answer to that will tell you if you should do it or not.


the design looks good. I would make sure you have one black tho. the black behind the valiant logo between the two images is different than that black behind you contact info.

I would make sure you have one black tho. the black behind the valiant logo between the two images is different than that black behind you contact info.

And this, if you go forward with it. Also, just because it looks like a single black on screen doesn't mean it's going to print that way.

Great Question. My goal would be to hand these to people I talk to that would seem receptive to the idea of reading Valiant or had questions (not just everyone I come in contact with). Some guys are just too locked into the old fashion super hero books. I just hate when I have a good conversation with someone, that I can't give them some information that could enhance there experience (Plus I wanted to drive more traffic to this board)

Yeah, that is a limitation in the tools I was using. I wanted all black but it would take a lot longer so I settled for where it is now.

Not a bad idea but I don't think that would fit. I will definitely be asking that to people though.

My rule would be I have to talk to them for 5 minutes and have them show some interest. I agree, if I just hand them out that would be weird.

Plus if my LCS does the pullbox preview promotion, I can stick some in there also. Thanks!

Sounds like youve figured it all out! I agree the vei website would work. I think evangelist works fine. Its a word used a lot in the tech community for exactly what ur doing. ..

i wouldn't worry about it. an "unofficial valiant evangelist" would be more specific tho.

More great feedback. I thought about the trademark issue. I will ponder it a little bit. The last thing I want to do is create an issue for VEI. I want their focus on making good books
