Mind blowing realization....

Going through some of my XO back issues, and realized Malgam is featured prominently on the cover of Xo #10, holding Aric. It's prelude to planet death cover. Lo and behold, he makes his in comic appearance 10 issues later, but I'm thinking that AH will lead to Aric/XO's demise as we know him. I think it's a little foreshadowing of the outcome of the ah arc, and now I'm thinking Malgam's gonna emerge as baddie #1 in the VEI universe to supplant Harada. I'm noticing that ALOT of the covers while misleading in terms of content within the current book they rest in,they foreshadow events to come in future issues. Case in point; Harbinger 8 with the interlocking cover featuring flamingo, she's engulfed in flames while the electric shock courses through/past her, foreshadowing her demise in death of a renegade. Pete's cover shows him protecting zephyr and kris while Torque's shows him geting zapped but standing over some egg breakers. Thinking there was some debate over wether to kill Flamingo or Torque, since neither are featured as protected by Pete's shield.

Also, Dysart has said that initially it was a different Renegade that was supposed to die but it was changed as the issue prior to the death was being written (and that all were on the table at one point), so I don't think that there's any foreshadowing intended in the interlocking cover.

it does sort of foreshadow that the XO suit can be corrupting(or be corrupted) depending on who wears it.

Gafti was full of pain and anger .. and the XO suit reflected that when he wore it.

Look at the face though, doesn't look like gafti, looks contorted and skewed, plus balding, more Malgam esque than gafti, plus the spikes are eerily similar to the prominent shards on Malgam.

I'm still going with Gafti. He's fully clad in the armor, instead of being more of an amalgamation. Plus, it's Gafti, so...
