Reasonble Cost to Binding TPB's
I know a bunch of you bind your books. Recently, my local library told that they prefer to buy book hard bound, because they last longer in circulation.
I have an old Shooter copy of Alpha & Omega (soft bound) that I'd like to donate to my library.
Can anyone think of a reasonable way for me to bind this so that the library can keep in circulation longer dues to it durability?
Thanks,
David

Uncollected Edition is probably your best bet for answers. you might have to dig through the forum to get them tho. or sign up and start asking questions they all seem friendly.

I use the folks at Houchen bindery. Check out there webpage for the costs of binding.
http://www.houchenbindery.com/comicbooks.htm
In the first paragraph there is a link to costs. I generally do a fairly generic library bind (smythe sown vs. DFAB though).
I think you could get a single volume done for $21 plus the cost of shipping.
mkb28 also uses Houchen, but he's dropped off his books personally. He could probably talk to you more about the actual people at Houchen and how the bind the books. After all he's met them.

Does anyone know the approximate cost of doing something as mundane as binding a simple trade paper back?

I have a HC version of this book for sale listed here:david_albuq wrote:Does anyone know the approximate cost of doing something as mundane as binding a simple trade paper back?

By the time you pay for binding and shipping to and from the binding company, it might be cheaper to just buy the HC.
