Cary Nord art for Unity #0?
Seems like it. And it looks like it would be like X-O Manowar #19 where Cary colored his own art! Can't wait to see the final product!

Re: Cary Nord art for Unity #0?
Just confirmed with Cary on FB that it is Unity #0. And he is not doing the colors, just the grey wash. Who's doing the colors?
The legendary Jose Villarubia.

He is really one of the few artists that I wish they would make a black-and-white version of his books. I think his art is so much nicer that way.

I agree...regardless of the skill of the colorists (and VEI has some very good ones), none can seem to capture the detail in Nord's art. It's because of the greyscale he uses as opposed to more traditional ink over pencil which provides more clearly defined areas of light and shadow.Ramses818 wrote:He is really one of the few artists that I wish they would make a black-and-white version of his books. I keep going back to his Conan work, where Dave Stewart showed how to color over Nord's pencils. Here is an example of Nord's pencils, then the colored version.BugsySig wrote:I agree...regardless of the skill of the colorists (and VEI has some very good ones), none can seem to capture the detail in Nord's art. Stewart just followed Nord's lead in the greyscale, and it showed as a great piece of work that highlights Nord's pencils.
I am happy that they got Villarubia to do the colors for Unity #0. He is the one who colored over Jae Lee's art in Fantastic Four 1234 and The Sentry. I searched the net if Villarubia has ever worked on Nord's pencils and I saw this encouraging result:

Exactly. Which is why I keep on asking why VEI is not going that route whet it comes to Nord's art.FormerReader wrote:Wow!erwinrafael wrote:I keep going back to his Conan work, where Dave Stewart showed how to color over Nord's pencils.
