Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
So after reading Archer and Armstrong #22 and 23, I tweeted about my hopes that FVL would stay with VEI and possibly work on a Timewalker series. Dino just responded:

Just let him do more A&A! (Although it may be a case of he already told us the story he wants to tell)
A Timewalker series by FVL would be good.

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
Good job Dunlow .. I was starting to lose hope that FVL would be back with Valiant (after Delinquents) but this tweet from Dino is definitely giving me new hope
In regards to A&A continuing - Listening to Dysart on OTV and reading the tea leaves - The plan it seems for now and into 2015 is to move peices around in order to expand the line and give exposure to characters in different settings - keep things fresh and unpredictable .. hence Faith guest starring in Unity, EW in several different mini's, Bloodshot in Unity and then in The Valiant, A&A and Q&W in the Delinquents ..on and on ... So I think, for the moment, I feel like they will move Archer and Armstrong around a bit into different series - probably seperate them for a little while - until eventually relaunching the title down the line.
If FVL continues on with Valiant - Something Timewalker related - would make a lot of sense.

Sorry Dunlow, Dino's response is just far too ambiguous and non-descript for me to possibly be able to garner anything from it whatsoever, other than he's acknowledged your suggestion

You and I are on the same wavelength, Dunlow. I had sent a similar tweet, and Dino responded even more vague than his response back to you.
Copied you on my tweet back.

Spoke with Clayton Henry at heroes con about Fred leaving A&A and what was next? He said he couldn't officially talk about it, asked about Timewalker and he smiled said something like that. Hopefully his drawing it

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
Please let it be so.
Besides the regular Timewalker tales, I used to love seeing the meet ups between Ivar, Aram, and Gilad during the different time periods, though-out the centuries.
I really think FVL would be perfect for this, as I not only love his storytelling but also his humour.
Bring it on and take my money

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
God, I hope so. I love FVL. I've followed almost everything he's written from Incredible Herc to A&A to Brain Boy. He's one of my favorite writers and he made me love Archer & Armstrong: a book I really never cared for the first time around (feel free to stone me VH1 fans). He'd be great on a Timewalker book and VEI would be crazy not to have him writing something for them, even if it is just a miniseries.

I've felt like this for a while. Market it right with the Doctor Who fans and you'd have some good sales.

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
In one of FVL's Brain Boy issues, he notes after reading some woman's mind and discovering she's a Doctor Who fan that she's the future Mrs. Brain Boy (or whatever his real name is). I though that might have been a little bit of a personal touch on FVL's part.dornwolf wrote:I've felt like this for a while. Market it right with the Doctor Who fans and you'd have some good sales.

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
Totally agree. If he is still on board/interested in writing for Valiant, they really should give him a project if A&A is no longer in the cards. Again I say, Timewalker would be a fantastic choice, I'd love to see it.BugsySig wrote:He'd be great on a Timewalker book and VEI would be crazy not to have him writing something for them, even if it is just a miniseries.

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
i don't know, i didn't ever really got into his writing. it's not bad and he clearly has a sense for plot and rhythm. but the story content always seems a bit generic and the tongue-in-cheek dialogue feels forced a bit too often. i think some a&a issues were pretty nice and the characters played to his strengths. but for ivar i'd love to see a more epic take by dysart or lemire.

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
I think Fred would be great. His Ivar when we've seen him is a much different personality than his brothers and during the Faraway arc clearly had other motives and a much darker secret he'd been keeping. I think with the last arc of Archer and Armstrong he's also shown he could work with paradoxes which to me are always a big thing to work with when doing time travels stories (I'm looking at you DC)krylox wrote:i don't know, i didn't ever really got into his writing. it's not bad and he clearly has a sense for plot and rhythm. but the story content always seems a bit generic and the tongue-in-cheek dialogue feels forced a bit too often. i think some a&a issues were pretty nice and the characters played to his strengths. but for ivar i'd love to see a more epic take by dysart or lemire.

Re: Hope for more FVL and possibly Timewalker?
I spoke briefly with FVL at an event a few weeks ago. He said though he has completed his A&A run he is definitely not done with Valiant. He love the company and working for them, and looks forward to doing more with them in the future.
